excellent authentic Asian food! Especially the PadTai. The egg drop soup is the best I've ever had. I've visited many Chinese and Tai restaurants in my lifetime and this little gem in Northern Michigan is a treat!

My husband and I had the buffet. They had a nice assortment of dishes, mostly chicken, but also a beef entree and a shrimp dish. I especially liked the crab rangoon. The restaurant was busy - about half full while we were there, with many...people having the buffet. The staff kept the buffet well supplied.More

The staff is friendly. The food was good and the portions were big. The prices are reasonable. You can’t go wrong when you eat here.

I've always loved the food from Chee Peng whenever I'm in Rogers City we eat here and I wish I could find a chinese and Thai place by me with the same quality and flavor as I get here.

We were delighted that Rogers City had a Chinese/Thai restaurant. We were mostly disappointed. The hot and sour soup was adequate, but nothing more. The won ton soup was basically broth with limp, unfilled empty wonton in the bowl. My friends egg rolls were good....I ordered Pad Kra Tiem Prik, which is a well known Thai dish. The menu accurately described the usual ingredients (including garlic, black pepper, green onion and water chestnuts in a brown sauce). However, the dish that was brought to the table had coconut milk, long yellow onions, pea pods, and mushrooms in a yellow curry type sauce. There was no garlic whatsoever, no water chestnuts, no green onions, etc. My friend ordered something else and her dish had the exact same sauce mine had (with the coconut milk and yellow curry sauce) which was not supposed to be in the dish she had ordered. We asked the waitress about the strange ingredients because we thought maybe there was a mix up. She had no idea what any of the dishes were and did not offer any explanation as to why 2 different dishes were missing the major ingredients and were so similar. It seems like they know how to make only 1 Thai dish and no matter what you order, that is what you get. Very disappointing. The food was edible, but not what was ordered and not anything I would recommend. My gut reaction to Thai or Chinese food up north is to stay away and that holds true unfortunately for this place.More

My family always eats here when we are in town. The Thai dishes are my favorite. They are always very flavorful with a good variety of vegetables. The only thing lacking in my opinion is a vegetarian protein option. The egg rolls are also a...family favorite being crispy, flavorful, and full of vegetables.More

Very excellent food and value. Sundays feature the buffet... a good time to check out multiple choices.

I'm not a big fan of this style of americanized chinese food. But given the location so far from a Chinese food wholesaler I understand some problems they face. I would return to try again but cautiously. Food was eatable but not polished meal. Start...with Pad Thia there are many styles to making this dish, but over cooked noodles and bean sprouts is not acceptable. No lime, cilantro or crushed peanuts and shrimp tasted like Walmart frozen farm raised shrimp. My son had sesame chicken which ok but a little to sweet. Won ton soup was average and egg drop soup should be called cabbage soup with scrambled eggs. Problems here is lack of freshness served in dishes but given where their location is explains this. Because the meals prices are low and I find it acceptable. If prices would go higher I wouldn't think of returning.More

Went as a family of 6 on a Wednesday, later in the evening. We were the only family in the restaurant. Water and tea were promptly placed on the table. Crab Rangoon’s were good. Food was prepared in a timely manner. Egg drop soup is...more of a chicken stock with sliced cabbage, carrots and a little egg. I ate cashew chicken which included Chinese vegetables and somewhat thin sliced chicken in a brown sauce. I found the chicken to be a little stringy/tough texture. Others at the table ordered shrimp and were pleased. Service was fair. They were out of fried rice so white steamed rice was our only option. Portions are plenty. As a side note...my leftovers did not turn into “jelly”. Definitely more like a gravy and heated up well (minus the chicken). Next time I will try deep fried chicken or no meat. ***If you want a buffet I believe they have a small one during lunch with limited choices.***More
