The burgers are absolutely delicious. The restaurant is huge so there is plenty of seating, but it's best to sit towards the windows so that you have a view of the water and the boats passing by. Service here is wonderful to top it off!

We are locals but love going to Freighters for their Happy Hour. 3:00pm till 6:00pm weekdays they have great discounts on appetizers and drinks. We always enjoy the view, the food and the wait staff.

What a great way to enjoy a delicious dinner and drinks by relaxing near the fireplace in the middle of the restaurant watching the freighters go by. Food was good and so was our waiter!

Great waterfront views and the restaurant has nice waterway views. Freighters supports local Michigan products which are limited to unfortunately only drinks. The food menu is limited in choices unless you like Mac and Cheese. This restaurant atmosphere (up scale) for the area is certainly...More

We'd been here years ago when it was the Thomas Edison Inn. So we were surprised, and fairly disappointed, to find Freighters lacking in any sort of personality. It is open and plain, apparently relying on its view of the water to attract diners. The...More
