I normally don’t do a lot of reviews, but this place was so great that I wanted to share it with others.
A gal at the Tahquamenon Falls gift shop recommended this restaurant to me and said they had the best homemade carrot cake around, and she was correct! The restaurant’s exterior is inconspicuous and gives no hint of all the goodies inside.
I stopped in later in the evening and ordered the fish tacos that had fresh fish and the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy shells. Their homemade fries were the good ones with the skins left on, like you can get at the UP State Fair, and they were accompanied by homemade ketchup.
My favorite part of the experience was the atmosphere. Sitting near the kitchen I heard choruses of “Get some!” when an order was ready, and they even had an item on the menu where you could buy a round for the kitchen staff, which of course I did (and received a cheer of “thank you!” when they were notified).
The best part was the carrot cake I took to go and ate for breakfast the next morning on the shores of Lake Superior at Whitefish Point at daybreak.
I guess this area really is Paradise.

We were staying in Paradise for the night on a trip and randomly chose this place for dinner. The Inn has on street parking right outside the door. We chose to eat at the bar which was dark and cozy with the feeling of a log cabin that had a good history as a place to eat. Delightful cocktail menu and stand out smoked menu items made for a fabulous meal that was completely unexpected. While it, of course, serves many tourists, you could tell this place also has a following among the locals. Highly, highly recommend for your eats if you are in the Paradise area.

Great place to grab a bite! Smoked pork was awesome, all meat, no fat, juicy! Everything was homemade the sauces including the ranch and ketchup as well as the the bbq sauce and coleslaw. Good selection of beers and drinks!

Was told as we were being seated no whitefish. It was the first restaurant we stopped at that was out so maybe that was their signature dish. My husband’s smoked brisket was hard and dry. My $8 bean soup dish was very subpar. I noticed everyone was ordering the carrot cake so maybe I should have went straight to dessert. The staff was pleasant so no issues there.

We were here during Wild Blueberry Festival. It was much bigger than we expected! Stopped at The Inn for lunch. Service was slow, but likely because of the crowds. The food was worth it. Home made catsup! Whitefish & fries was fresh & had a firm texture rather than flakey. It was good. Catsup & tartar sauce both home made. I had the logjammer (brisket sandwich). Fall apart brisket & carmalized onions. Very good.
Had to try the “famous” carrot cake. HUGE! And served on a log!

A random guy we met in line for the Pictured Rocks Cruise in Munising, MI started talking to
my friend and I. He told us about this place and told us he was going here for dinner just for the Reuben. They smoke the Corned Beef. Turns out this restaurant is in front of our hotel.
The smoked Corned Beef makes such a difference. No other Corned Beef will compare.
I make my own Corned beef and pastrami.
I will never make another Reuben again unless it is smoked Corned beef.
Since I live in Southeast PA it is not like I xan here for the real deal.
Highly recommend this place.

Take Out service was fairly quick- 15 min. I asked for extra ketchup and got 2 packets. Fries were good, but the burger was soggy (I only walked to the hotel behind the restaurant to eat my meal).

It was an ok restaurant in our opinion. I had the roast beef on toast with mashed potatoes. The roast beef was 80% fat and I couldn't even cut it. Don't order it. My husband had the Quesadillas and they were delicious. We topped it off with Carrot cake which is huge so share it.

First, the server was great, polite and attentive, she did not give her name. It is a bar atmosphere. The food? My husband’s burger was good, he gave it a B. I was excited they had fish tacos, sorry to say, I’d give them a D. It’s just ok breaded, deep fried white fish, wrapped in flour tortillas, with a few bits of tomato and a tablespoon or so of coleslaw. Kind of a fish stick in a cheap flour tortilla. Would I recommend this restaurant, not really. Would I eat there again? Definitely no.

No question that this is the best place to eat north of the bridge. You would not expect it in this small town with 1 main restaurant and few food trucks but I was very pleasantly surprised. We were hungry and didn't have any real expectations but so glad we stopped (stayed at the hotel behind the restaurant, don't know if the same owners but the hotel was excellent also.) The smoked brisket sandwich was excellent and the whipped ricotta dip with a honey drizzle and honeycomb on top I could every day for the rest of my life! Will definitely be making a point to come back here on our next trip to the UP.

We have eaten at The Inn several times prior to today. As always, the food is great but I was disappointed in our server who was completely immune to us rather focusing his attention on the young, drunk lady at the bar who was happy to let everyone know it was her honeymoon. We waited a significant amount of time for our drinks to arrive and when I stepped up to the bar to request them (again) he continued to chat up the honeymooners about campsites. He even looked up at me but continued yapping! Things changed dramatically when the owner showed back up. I get it. Help is hard to find and it has to be harder this far north but servers need to be conscious of ALL their customers. Not just the cute young ones. Tips are better too from us older folks😉

The food and service here was amazing. We visited on Friday and happily waited less than 20 minutes for a table. We ordered the whitefish tacos, poutine and pasty. All three of us were very satisfied with our meals. About half way through the meal, our server brought out another serving of poutine and said the chef felt the first portion was adequate. Our server was super busy yet she was very attentive to us. We stopped in the next night and got the carrot cake to go. It was delicious! We will most definitely return on future trips to the area.

My husband and I did a mini get away to Paradise and went to The Inn for dinner. We walked because we were staying at The Magnuson which is right behind The Inn. We had the fish and chips which is on the menu as (when available). Let be tell you, we won the lottery because it was fresh whitefish and it was available with homemade fries and homemade ketchup!! AWESOME! The staff are taking all of the steps to provide a clean safe eating environment. When my husband and I left, I am guessing , the owner, chased us down because my husband had given him an extra $20 when he paid the bill. Knowing he was extremely busy and took the time out to do this was very heartwarming. Thank You!

This little place in Paradise was hopping on a Friday Night dinner. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. We shared the smoked meatloaf dinner and ordered a side of fries. Those hand cut fries were sooooo good! I almost ate them all. The smoked meatloaf was different. It was nice and meaty and a good portion just such a different thing I wasn’t so in love with it. My husband loved it and ate his portion up. He also loved the mashed potatoes and gravy. Sadly, we were too full to try the desserts. The service was very friendly and very efficient. Plus who doesn’t love a place you get to draw on the table covering. Well done.
