What a treat. From the gorgeous venue, to the super fresh sushi, the tasty grouper, the exotic deserts, to our server Alexis. Reservations a must, as the word is on the street that this is a go destination. Go and enjoy. Don’t forget to ask...for Alexis as she will take your experience to another level.More

A really unique environment in an old mansion. We sat upstairs that was not as intimate as it would appear on the website pictures. Nevertheless, really great/fast service. The two of us ordered 4 small plates, miso soups, and a roll to share for dinner....The pork belly and panko cod really stood out. The Hamachi Crudo and Ahi Tuna was good but very small portions.More

We met another couple for dinner and had a great dinner together. The menu has a lot of variety, including sushi entrees which my wife enjoys. She said it was among the best she has had for awhile. I had the sea bass which was...outstanding -- prepared beautifully with a nice accompaniment of vegetables and a wonderful sauce. The other couple had equally good entrees. The wine list is varied and very nice, with reasonable prices for a mid to high end restaurant. Service was good, not great. As is often the case these days, the wait staff is asked to serve more tables than maybe is normal. He was friendly and helpful, just overworked I think. All in all though, we would highly recommend the restaurant.More

Went to Shiro's with colleagues while working in the area. We went early and were seated right away. We all had a variety of dinners. I had the angry bird and las Vegas sushi rolls and enjoyed every bite. Great service helped make for a...great dinner in a beautiful old building.More

Food was delicious, we all had something different; ceviche, flaming salmon roll, ahi tuna, Chilean sea bass, tempura vegetables. Every thing was very tasty, we all enjoyed our dishes. The signature cocktail drinks were very good also. My only complaint, we ate upstairs, it was...very noisy, so it was hard to hear our waiter.... especially with a mask on.More

Wife and I snuck out for a Sunday date night and we picked this spot to try. The reviews were great...and now i see why. Just driving up to the place you can tell it's going to be a good visit. Greeted and seated quickly...by friendly staff. Once seated, there's something about the age of the building combined with the Asian theme inside that just works. Server came to the table quickly and took our orders. Sushi came out quickly and was presented beautifully. Everything was tasty and we'll definitely be back for another meal!!!More

There was a fast greeting. The staff members were donned in dressy attire. Drinks were refilled promptly. Even with a wide variety of Sushi available, “Chicken Teriyaki” was ordered…with perfectly cooked rice and a generous amount of chicken. Though it was not necessary, a fork...was furnished with the main course. It’s an interesting venue for a Sushi bar.More

I love the beautiful building. It's such an elegant place to have dinner with family and friends. I loved my salmon sashimi bowl with rice. The sushi was very fresh and delicious. We also tried some of the special rolls and a hot shrimp with...noodles and bean sauce. All were really good. Tge service was also very good. Great find in the area.More

We rolled into Novi and hit this place before checking into our hotel. What a surprise, a beautiful building, setting, and atmosphere. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and polite. Our server was all smiles and personable. The dishes came out fresh and relatively quickly. It...was fun watching all of the chefs work to perfect their dishes as we were close to the sushi station. Great flavors, great sushi. We are going to make this a regular stop whenever we are in the area. Don’t miss on this place folks and you’ll be writing to thank me!More

My Teryaki Chicken was cooked fine. I just found the flavor lacking. Many places use too much sugar. Shiro doesn't which is good; however, they don't spice it up enough to compensate. I also had the vegetarian spring rolls. They were tasteless. The others at...my table agreed. We were celebrating a birthday. They offered us free ice cream which was nice; however, the table next to us were celebrating an anniversary and they offered them a tasting dish not on the menu. I didn't appreciate the different offerings. The atmosphere is quite nice; however, the chairs are HORRIBLE!!!!! I would be willing to try again and order something different, lbut not until I know they have improved the seating.More

My first visit (of hopefully many more!) to Shiro was for a celebratory meal with family. We chose some appetizers to share - for me the steamed dumplings and the Ahi tuna were the starts of the show. We followed this with a selection of...sushi rolls including the "special" - lobster roll - which was delicious. Very impressed with the tastes and textures of the food and the historic mansion setting is a lovely bonus. We had a lovely evening and were impressed with the value when the check arrived. I would very much recommend this restaurant and plan to return next time I am in the area. Quite rightly it seems to be a busy place so I would imagine calling ahead to book would be prudent.More

Met a girlfriend here on Friday lunchtime around 12 noon. The restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly and one of the servers recognised us from previous visits. The 1920’s mansion housing this place is beautiful. One side of the restaurant has an open...sushi kitchen with counter seating, where you watch the chefs prepare your choices, as well as regular tables & chairs. The other side has tables & chairs and a smallish room that can be used for larger groups of private parties. I think upstairs is used for events too. Anyhow, we spent ages chatting and had green tea, a side salad each and the lunchtime special bento box, which is on display at the restaurant entrance each day. The bento box special changes daily and is at the chef’s discretion. All for under $10 - love it! I think this special is only available in the week though. There are steps to get in the restaurant entrance (not sure I spotted a ramp) and plenty of parking in the lot out front or there is another lot out the back of the restaurant too. Bathrooms are limited, only a couple a think, but are on the same level as the restaurant, without stairs. It’s always fun to eat here and the service and food is always good whether there are 2 or 10 of us. Have eaten from the sushi menu too and that is wonderful - lots of selection and tastes very fresh, bit more price, but not been disappointed yet!More

Fantastic Asian food in a beautiful old home setting. The spicy tuna martini is amazing and so is the mango tuna appetizer. We had a steak and mashed potatoes that was also fantastic. Service is great and they take reservations. We have been there many...times including Christmas Eve and have always had great food and service. Food is consistent and very reasonable priced. I eat there every couple of months and it’s one of my favorite restaurants.More
