Fischers is a very popular restaurant just north of Leland MI on M22. It features very good bar food and excellent chicken and fish sandwiches. They feature local wines and "in season" local specials such as raspberry pie and asparagus soup.

Known for its fried chicken dinner, which is really good bar food. The drinks are generous and well made. The staff friendly. The atmosphere excellent. However, don't expect much mask-wearing.

This was our second visit as we visit the Leelanau area annually for fall colors. This has become our favorite dinning spot in the area. Fantastic food, great portions, great variety and probably the friendly staff anywhere. It’s easy to see why this restaurant is...a local favorite. Don’t miss the broasted chicken.More

Fabulous broasted chicken dinner, generous servings, efficient friendly service, reasonable prices. Do yourself a favor a head to the Happy Hour! We came on a beautiful Sunday at 4:30 and sat right down. Diners coming at 5 had a little bit of a wait, but...our dinners came promptly and we devoured our meals. Cozy laid back atmosphere that hasn’t changed in years.More

Excellent food. Well worth the wait. Get there early. My husband and I had the walleye. Excellent and large portions. Desserts are to die for. Cream puff sanders hot fudge sundae was exceptional. Enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee. Our waitress was very attentive even...though she was very busy. Thank you for the wonderful experience.More

We have driven by Fischers many times but made a point to finally stop in and check it out. It was like stopping at a roadhouse 50 years ago, not much had changed. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super cool and...personalble. We ordered the broasted chicken and it was delicious. The place has a ton of personality so if you are in the area stop in and enjoy a step back in time, you will not be disappointed!More

My family stopped here for the first time for lunch. We sat on the deck. It took awhile to get our food, but our waitress was so nice and friendly (I wish I could have remembered her name, but she was telling us that she's...the green bean taste tester to make sure each batch is right!). My daughter was over the moon over her Shirley Temple. I had the Alaskan Polluck dinner ($19)... the fish was good... the batter could have used some salt. My meal came with fries, coleslaw, and green beans. The green beans were AMAZING. My daughter ate some of them too and we LOVED them. Her and I still talk about them, a month later. My husband got the homemade Egg Salad sandwich and chips. The egg salad sandwich was huge and very reasonably priced at $7.50. My son got the kids grilled cheese ($6.99 which I think is overpriced for a kids grilled cheese) with fries ($1 to add to the grilled cheese). My daughter got a cheeseburger ($8.50) and she loved it. We liked that they had outdoor dining options, even an extra tent and tables for overflow. There were signs posted about picking up carryout and COVID practices, so it seemed like they were trying to find their way to make their restaurant work during COVID times.More

I have never had a bad meal here - ever. Have been coming back nearly every year for the last decade. We did get tripped up by the hours also. They didn't open until 4pm and we were looking for lunch so came back the...next day. The menu has been scaled back a little for Covid but our meals were excellent. I had the Famous Chicken dinner and switched out the fries for cauliflower bites, my husband had the fish. We split the awesome cream puff for desert. Very tasty! Friendly staff and lots of safety precautions in place.More

Took over an hour to get our order for 6. Broasted chicken was good. Deli sandwich was pretty lacking of mean for the price. French fries were not worth the calories. I realize Covid 19 makes the whole situation challenging; but this place either needs...to up their game or make a new game plan.More

I’m sorry you were not satisfied with your carryout. You are absolutely right this global pandemic does make running a restaurant very challenging. We are working very hard to staff, meet health department guideline and learn the balance of full service dining plus curbside. So...More

We visited in August 2019 and was recommended by our Innkeeper in Glen Arbor. She said for the best fried chicken we had to go here, so we packed the car and drove up to Leland for the day and stopped here for probably one...of the best meals ever! We sat at the bar and had wonderful conversation with the staff and other patrons. Getting a locals' perspective and advise is always worth listening to on vacation!More

We’d love to be able to review but are unable. We checked online for their Sunday hours before we started out on our 130 mile trek to enjoy their famous Sunday broasted chicken dinner. Got there and a small sign in the window indicated they’d...be reopening April 9th. Disappointed and hungry to say the least.More

Old fashioned, roadhouse sort of place in a good way: chicken baskets, fish, clam chowder, big condiment tray for the burger, cream puffs for dessert. It's a good spot for drinks--tap beer, local wine, gin martinis, Manhattans--and the wooden booths and bar look like they...haven't changed since the forties, even though I know that the place isn't that old. It's always a good time.More
