We love this restaurant! Sitting right on Hess Lake, it has a great view and an outdoor deck. Good selection of food and service is always quick. Enjoyed the perch and shrimp. Stop in and see for yourself!

My family and I ate at Smuggler's Cove for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. They were not very busy but someone had reservations for the deck area. This is where we wanted to sit but the entire deck was reserved. As it turned out, we had four waiters helping us because they seemed a little disorganized about having... More

Went out with friends, looking for a change of place. Heard about Smugglers Cove, thought we'd give it a go. We were welcomed in & promptly offered a choice of 2 tables to sit at. Having noticed windows with a view of the lake, I politely asked if anything available up front, to which hostess replied, yes of course. (I... More

We haven't had very good luck with restaurants lately and our visit to Smuggler's cove in Newaygo, MI was the most resent. Two years ago after eating a burrito at Smuggler's Cove on a Saturday evening, I ended up in intensive care the following day with food poisoning. Although we can't pin this on Smuggler's Cove, we took the remainder... More

I am not posting this comment to convey that our business is flawless by any means, only to express my side of this story. Anyone in a business that deals with public service can identify with the fact some customers are just not consolable no matter what measures you take. Burrito– Had I been a customer that ordered a burrito... More

My daughter her wife and ate here our last night in Michigan. Karen and I ordered the all you can eat shrimp, and Jenny had the Prime rib. The food was delicious, the service great, and the margarita I had was awesome. To bad we don't live closer I would go every Saturday night. Sit out by the water very... More

We had very good service, excellent drinks and the food was great. I'd recommend the smothered chicken to anyone.

Very good food and atmosphere. Local business with local people. It's nice to have this kind of establishment in our area.

We had a nice view of the bay. I had the cajun catfish and it was very tasty. My husband the cocoanut shrimp and said it was good but not served the way he had expected. The waitress was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable of the items on the menu.

Smuggler's Cove is most usually busy. If you go on a weekday evening, early, you may get right in and get a seat. Summer months are a bit nicer because you can sit on the deck. Watch the boaters, skiers, fishermen, all while you eat your Ribeye, Prime Rib, or Alaskan Pollock. It is a nice quaint restaurant with good... More
