When you think of eating a fzmily-style dinner in a French village, you think of a place like this. Old family recipes in an untouched original setting, served by friendly people who seem happy to be in the tradition. My wife had the omelet with cepes (mushrooms), vegetable soup, salad. I had the confit d’oie (goose) with salad featuring walnut oil. A light but satisfying lunch on a rainy March day. We will be back and will bring guests. Merci!

We really enjoyed everything about you: your welcome, simple and warm , the quality of your cuisine with local products, extra! all for a very reasonable Award. If we return to the Dordogne , we will pass again at your place, for sure! I highly recommend!

This restaurant is one of those places that if you drive past then you have missed one of the best and friendliest restaurants in the region. Great food and very very nice people. A pleasure to eat here. Thank you very much.

Old-school local French restaurant as comfy and as delicious as can be. Home style Occitane food served by a generations’ old kitchen.

Wholesome local cuisine. Not my go to, but it was okay. The restaurant has an end of season feel - restaurant was not lively. Food was as one should expect. Would I return? Yes, but only if nothing else available.

We read the menu outside and we’re unsure whether to go. However, it was recommended to us so we booked and went. What a lovely restaurant. The family who run it are just lovely and give you a warm welcome, the food was lovely and very reasonably priced as was the wine. The menu terroir with its pate and confit duck were lovely and served with vegetables grown in their garden. The rhum baba was gorgeous. Please don’t let the quiet outside appearance of this restaurant put you off its well worth a visit.

What a delight of a place! Honestly faultless, local and fresh food delivered in an unpretentious setting to a very high standard. I will certainly be going back whenever I am in the the area. You’d be mad to miss it.

Extraordinarily good, hearty home-cooked food in a simple, rustic indoor setting. Wonderfully tasty and served by the family, we came here to avoid outdoor eating and summertime wasps and we discovered delicious food obviously cooked with love. Go!

The minute we walked into the restaurant it felt accommodating. It was like stepping back into the days of wonderful boarding houses, family run, friendly, with tablecloths. We ordered the plat du jour and it was delicious and reasonable. One feels right at home. You have to get there in the short windows of time that they serve, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Rooms are priced low, and I would have loved to stay here if we'd needed a room.

Very nice welcome and service. Home made duck terrine was excellent. I chose the confit d'oie to follow, which was an extra 3€, but it was a bit dry and stringy. My husbands confit de canard was much better. Accompanying vegetables were rather overcooked. Will have to give it another go.

We stayed in Carsac-Aillac, and had dinner here. We had a local 5 course meal A La Cart that included soup, assorted cold cut sausages, main dish, assorted cheese and desert. Food was quite tasty, but soup was not as good as the rest of the meal. The waiter was nice and friendly.

The restaurant is very simple and is a family business : the mother is the chef , the two children attend wonderfully to the clients and the father takes care of the vegetables garden , We had a plate of fresh vegetables from the garden to start and then the plat du jour ( plate of the day ) which was a lamb shoulder stuffed with herbs and various other things , again with asparagus and green peas and green beans .. Delicious home cooked food , like at home . Prices are very reasonable
