The 1 star review is specifically for the people booking wedding and events at the lake house, please read! Let me start off by saying I truly do feel bad writing this review. From the very start the event manager Jillene was very helpful planning...out our big day and helping manage everything. That was until 5 pm THE NIGHT BEFORE OUR WEDDING. Less then 24 hours from The ceremony when Jillene informed us that “due to unforeseen circumstances I have to leave town and won’t be here tomorrow I won’t be here tomorrow, but Sarah will be able to help you!” So with less than a day before the ceremony the only person who we’d been in contact with from the venue for the entire year leading up, just abandons us. Now emergencies happen and I understand the world doesn’t stop turning just because I’m getting married. if the replacement Jillene gave us (Sarah) was also an event planner or someone who could manage the task Jillene had left her. Unfortunately, she could not. We only saw her 3-4 times over the whole day and the only time I didn’t have to have someone go find her(we think she was overwhelmed at the impossible task Jillene had dumped on her and was hiding in the back) was when she introduced herself to me. Many things that we had been told would be the venues responsibility ended up, falling directly on the wedding party and family is of the bride and groom during the wedding day. The wheel chairs we’d requested be made were not ready and then about half of them didn’t work properly. There were NO SIGNS directing guest where to go to the ceremony or reception. When someone finally got a sign (hand written in sharpie) it said “bletcher” wedding this way. This was the first sign we saw at our reception as a married couple. We had to ask multiple times for cookies and cupcakes we got for dessert be refilled with more from the back. To top it all off the father to the groom had his non-cancelable and nonrefundable room canceled when he went to check in and it took about a hour on the phone with a manager to sort it out. There was 1 other person besides the bride and groom with the last name Belcher and yes, they cancelled his room. So to recap. After walking us through the whole process of booking and planning our wedding, the lake houses event manager Jillene, totally abandon us the day before our wedding, and did not leave anybody capable to do all of the things she said “her and her team would do” the only thing her team did was set up tables that morning. They couldn’t even spell our last name correctly or keep the reservation for the only person sharing the bride and grooms name. If you are going to book the lake house for your wedding, don’t trust a word out of jillene or expect any help.More

We have dined at The Lake House Waterfront Grill three times in the past four months. Each time the food was excellent. The view is beautiful, as always and the servers good. In 2018 I had a couple bad experiences and actually gave them a...bad review. For a few years they struggled with quality. My assessment is that they’ve completely turned around and re-established themselves as a quality restaurant. I can happily recommend this restaurant again.More

We were looking for a nice restaurant on the water. This place was good. We got the salad with steak and it was decent. The French fries were good. The service was just okay. Our water glasses were empty and never refilled.

First off, you can’t get a reservation because they are “so busy”. But the place was dead. Not surprised because this place is awful. Waited about 15mins. for a drink order. Drinks arrived 15 mins. later. The worst food and service. Dishes were sent back....No one ate their meals. They simple didn’t care. A waste of a vacation evening.More

Lovely spot in Muskegon on the water. We had a very good lunch experience. We ordered the Cajun Burger and that day's special, the Walleye sandwich. The Cajun burger was tasty, not overwhelming in seasoning. Personally I think a little more lettuce and tomato would...have made this even better. The walleye sandwich was simply wow! Fresh and big fillets of the fish. Never had better. Good service by Gabriel. Extensive drink and wine list. Great view of harbor and Muskegon Lake.More

Absolutely delicious from the tuscan bean dip appetizer to our entrees... walleye and espresso dusted scallops. The menu was varied & extensive. The bar beverage menu was large and had several interesting cocktails. The restaurant was light and airy with inside and outside dining. The...staff was excellent.More

We had a lovely meal on the patio here, early on a Saturday evening in May. The restaurant was super busy but we'd driven from an hour away in our case and 2.5 hours in the case of my son and girlfriend, plus we had...my 89-year mom on a walker with us, and traipsing around to find other restaurants was not a good option. We didn't dream they'd be so busy at 4:45 p.m.! The staff managed to squeeze us in. The food was delicious, the view was very nice, and when it got a little chilly, the staff noticed and proactively brought us some light blankets to put around our shoulders. It made for such a nice family evening. We were celebrating mothers' day one day early.More

Nice place for lunch outdoors, good atmosphere…food is decent but slightly overpriced…drinks and wine prices unreasonable for the location…service was absolutely terrible, with a lot of “sorries”… we were ok with the delayed service but not with the bartender overlooking us completely to take an...order from a couple who had just arrived when we had been waiting nearly 1/2 hour. We finally flagged down the manager to order. Apologies are useless if you do not take time to find out why your customer is unhappy. Understaffed, yes, but also poorly trained.More

What a happy and pleasant surprise on our trip! Romantic for two at dinner. Pleasant service. Husband had the walleye, pretzel crusted and pan fried, he says perfect. Light and not heavy. We shared the calamari app, both enjoyed it. I had a steak salad...and added shrimp to it. The dressing was good, loved the pears with the dressing and the goat cheese. I do not like goat cheese, but loved this! Shrimp was a bit rubbery, steak could’ve had more flavor to it. No white tablecloths here, but definitely a nice atmosphere in the evening. Next to a marina and a hotel, so you’ll see people in various types of clothing. Not only would I eat here again, but I’m probably going to go out of my way to go to this restaurant again. Note that they have a limited menu, so check the website. Bar menu is extensive.More

We came here for a birthday dinner and sat outside. The live musician was great. It was fun but not super loud and he was very talented. Our server Curtis was excellent. Super friendly and prompt. We loved the calamari. My husband got the walleye...which was fantastic. It was nicely breaded and crispy and the fish was flaky and fresh. I got the braised beef. So good! Very tender and the polenta was also very good. Because it was my birthday, we got the lava cake. It was excellent! It got a little chilly but they had heaters out there which was great.More

Unfortunately the time it took to get one cocktail was long. Then we ordered right away when we got our drinks. Took about 35 minutes to get 1 salad and one appetizer. We had finished our drinks and were awaiting our server so we could...order another. At this point we had been seated for 1 hour 15 minutes and had watched every one else come and leave . Ordered two after dinner drinks after having to ask for drinks as our waitress never asked us for a second drink. Sent both cocktail’s back . If I wanted a lot of vodka with chocolate I would have kept my Espresso Martini. My wife’s peach vodka martini was nothing but vodka and Baileys. Bartender let the young server down with ineptitude. The crab cakes and Cesar salad were fine. Never even had a chance to order main entry as server was absent ant 1 he 1/2 had stressed my patience. Long winded review and I did this after I had calmed down.More
