The Lake House Waterfront Grille service is very slow. If you have hours to eat. Then you are o.k. We ordered wine. The server came back & said they did not have the wine. Came back a few minutes later and said they had it....🤔. We just had the Filet Mignon | 38, 44Choice of 5oz or 8oz fillet, pan seared and served with house mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetable and finished with a roasted garlic bleu cheese cap and demi-glace. The steak was cold. The house mashed potatoes we not peeled. The Demi-glacé was easy to salty. You figure for that price we would be full. Sorry no. We were still hungry so we order Fig Jam Crostini Fig jam and goat cheese crostini with lavender honey goat cheese, fig and caramelized onion jam, roasted yellow tomatoes, candied applewood bacon. The bread was so stale you could not bite through it. We asked the server to tell the chef to try one. Then the manager came over and said they toast the bread in the morning? Really. And they would not charge us. we did not eat it. So needless to say not sure if I would eat here again. The meal started at 4:30 and finished at 6:30. If you decide to eat here. Just order a cocktail and Fried Mediterranean Calamari | 19 Roasted tomato confit, banana peppers, capers, roasted red peppers, sundried tomato pesto, white balsamic butter sauce, parmesan, balsamic glaze. That is what everyone was ordering.More

We came here on a Saturday and sat outside. It’s got a beautiful view of the waterfront. Our waitress was very sweet and explained things well. I got the Brussel sprout salad and it came with dried cherries and green apple slices and I switched...out the salad dressing because I don’t like blue cheese dressing. The waitress warned me that the brussels sprouts are not cooked they are sliced but they’re very crunchy. My friend ordered the classic burger and it came with chips or you could pay extra to get french fries sweet potato fries or waffle fries. He stuck with the classic chips and said it was fineMore

The location right on the lake is very nice, but beware that tables on the boardwalk, though fitted with umbrellas, are in direct sun, and umbrellas are not adjustable. The food was o.k. but even though the restaurant wasn't crowded, it took about an hour...to get our entrees. The restaurant appeared to be short-staffed. Food and drinks were extremely pricey for the quality delivered. For example, a Bloody Mary was $12, and appetizers such as sweet potato fries and fried artichokes were already tepid when served. My husband and our friend raved about the 50/50 burger, but my whitefish, which was $36, was just o.k., and the sides served with it were decidedly mediocre. My daughter did not enjoy the chopped brussel sprouts salad at all. Our server was sweet but clearly overstretched as someone else finally had to bring our food. It took over 15 minutes just to get a lemon slice for my water, despite the fact that others in my party had been served their drinks. We will not return and cannot recommend.More

Very good service. Fig jam crostini starter was tasty. Salmon en croûte was very good indeed. Restaurant was busy, but service was timely.

This a very nice restaurant overlooking White Lake. It was converted from the Morat's Bakery, which is STILL the finest Muffin Bread in the world. The service was very good (Jenelle) and the food was excellent. There are a lot of local fish dishes and...local beers. I highly recommend this place while you're in Whitehall.More

My friend and I came to The Lake House from out of state during our trip to Muskegon. The atmosphere is classy, yet comfortable. The food was delicious but the highlight of our visit was our server, Brandon. Brandon was SO friendly and welcoming. He...made us feel like family. Brandon went above and beyond, was extremely attentive, and was by far the best server we have ever encountered. We look forward to our next trip to The Lake House and experiencing Brandon’s superior service again.More

My husband and I went here one evening before a night out. The service was incredibly slow, but we weren’t in a hurry, so it was OK. I ordered the Cajun pasta. My husband had a burger. My Cajun pasta had no Cajun flavor at...all, which was disappointing. My husband was no thrilled with his burger either, stating that it tasted like a frozen patty. The best thing we had were the crab cake appetizer. Those were delicious. We did not order any alcoholic drinks, and our bill was still over $100 at the end of the night. Also, if you pay with a card, your server will stare over your shoulder while you input the tip. Despite the horrendously slow service (we were in the restaurant for over 2 hours), I still tipped well….not because I wanted to, but the waiter was watching me and I panicked under pressure. I am local to the area. Trust me when I tell you that there are better places to spend your $100.More

The menu was limited, but the food was very good. I had the Ceasar Salad. It was big but a little pricey, about $14. My husband had the white fish sandwich. It was very good. We had reviewed the menu online before we went, and...we were disappointed that the menu was different. We had planned on getting something else. Our server said Google had misinformation or old Information. Regardless, the food was great. Reservations are also accepted.More

I took my wife here for Valentine’s a day early due to work. They were running a weekend Valentine’s special. The restaurant is very clean and geared towards couples dates with the ability for large groups. We ordered the Drunken mushrooms, the strudel des amoureax...for appetizer, the London broil and filet mignon for main course. The drunken mushrooms were very tasty but the strudel Drs amoureax lacked seasoning! When the 2 were mixed it was a much better taste! The filet was a perfect medium rare and had a lot of flavor with the mashed potatoes but the asparagus was barely even cooked. Out of 10+ or - I had 2 cooked with a bite thru consistency. The rest were basically raw! The London broil was way too chewy to actually spend time on!More

My wife and I got takeout here while staying at the Shoreline Inn next door -- garlicky chicken pasta for her, a filet for me. The food was good (although I'm glad I ordered the steak rare, since it was medium rare when I got...it), if a bit on the high-priced side for what it was. A good option when staying at the Shoreline.More

Lovely location and a wonderful waitress. We both ordered the perch dinner. The food was plentiful but there was absolutely no flavor/taste to the perch. It was like store bought heavily breaded fish. For the price of the meal we expected a lot more flavor

Staff hustled and made our brief visit memorable. Lauren made one of the best bloody Mary's I've had in the world! ( rivals my own homemade creation). Enjoyed the apps and bowls. Brittany, the manager, supported a hard working staff to make sure each patron...was taken care of. Strongly recommend stopping here for a drink and bite. We will be back !More
