My husband and I enjoyed delicious cheeseburgers tonight, sitting out on the deck. I was originally going to give four stars, but reconsidered and lowered my rating to three.
Our burgers were excellent; my concern and only three star rating was due primarily to the lack of concern for following guidelines regarding Covid-19, as well as poor service.
The servers were supposedly wearing masks, but most were of absolutely no use. Several had bandanas or scarves which fell to their chins, leaving their mouths and noses totally exposed. Only a few wore actual masks. I’m surprised Dockers doesn’t provide a uniform type of mask, as we’ve seen in other restaurants during this time of concern about Covid. When servers were openly not wearing their masks, it made me wonder about the cooks whom we could not see, or what other precautions are being overlooked. I’m not sure if there was extra space between the tables.
Our waitress was not attentive. I tried repeatedly to get someone’s attention to refill our water glasses, finally walking inside to get my own water, then talking to another waiter about it. It was at least ten to fifteen minutes longer before our waitress finally came to our table to ask if we needed anything, and finally refilled our glasses, saying she had family friends at another table who’d wanted to talk, so she was tied up with them. We had planned to give a bonus tip due to servers being out of work for so long during the restaurant closures, but reverted to 15%.
We still really enjoyed our dinner, but hope management will become attentive to these concerns.

Dockers is a great restaurant to visit in Muskegon. It is located on the shore of Muskegon Lake, it has docks for boats of all sizes, so if your out boating and need to grab a bite to eat this is your place. We had the clam chowder, bang bang shrimp, crab cakes, and Mahi Bahn MI sandwich. All were very good. Great views of the lake, large outdoor seating area, live music, and plenty to keep young children busy outside (corn hole, giant Jenga, and giant connect four) while waiting to be seated or waiting for your food.

We visited at the beginning of the month with friends for my birthday. Drinks were inconsistent depending on bartender. We did start requesting who make them out of the 2. Everyone’s food was good except mine (of course). I ordered the burger, it was charred (burnt). They were very nice about remaking it, it came back good.
My only complaint is that the manager stopped by our table and made a comment that must prefer my burger a little more pink. It upset me, “like can’t you see it’s black!” That is the only reason I wrote the review and included my burnt burger. We are regulars for years but this year the quality has sadly fallen.

Service was sub par. Waitress never checked on us once she took the order until the bill arrived. There was a gentleman that approached us half way through the meal to see how our server was doing. Out of politeness, everyone at the table said she was doing great. He didn't know she was nearby and was very obvious she could hear our response. There were no refills on our drinks. Nobody asked how anything was until we paid for our meal.
Quality of the food was way below the standard based on the price. $28 for Cajun Whitefish. 2 of the smallest fillets I have ever seen. I would have been better off getting McDonald's chicken nuggets. The presentation was horrible. The fish sat atop 2 of the smallest pieces of asparagus (described as garden vegetables in the menu) which were chewy. The fish and asparagus was laid over about a half cup of some of the nastiest rice I have ever tasted.
The $28 dish could have been served with a lot more on the side, especially considering whitefish market value at the time is $7.90 per pound. The small amount of rice that they gave must have cost them about 2.5 cents for the dish. The asparagus looked and tasted as if it was grown in a 3rd world country...(which I am sure a 3rd world country could do better)

The staff was learning, that's ok. The portion of the roasted vegetable salad, was 3 cauliflower, 2 broccoli, 1/4 cup chick peas, tablespoon of feta, some corn and some sauces. I added shrimp. I got 4 unpeeled shrimp. Unpeeled shrimp is the worst when dining and this small salad and 4 shrimp cost $23!!!! I noticed our whole tables salads were small and no one took home a to go box. I was still hungry. Also the 3% fee to pay by card is rude, add it in to product if you can't afford it!! Your drink and food prices should certainly cover your monthly costs.

We have not been impressed in the past with the quality of the pricey menu options , but friends asked us to join . Again - very underwhelmed and overpriced.
“ Fish and Chips” was ONE piece of fish , small serving of fries and a tiny cup slaw . Buffalo chix salad small and dressing was left off so given a couple cups of ranch to throw on . Very disappointing
For just these 2 “ entrees” and one ice tea- with tax, credit card surcharge and tip we paid 50.00. !!!
I guess dinner “ with a view “ comes at a big price .
We will stick with the other waterfront restaurant down the road for summer dining in Muskegon .

We stopped in for lunch before using the adjacent Freedom Boat Club of Muskegon. The service was awesome! Emily was very friendly and knowledgeable. The lobster roll and lobster nachos is world class. Keep up the great work. It was totally worth the drive, even if we didn't have a boat reserved. We will be back!

Great spot so close to Pere Marquette Beach and The Pidge Inn where we stayed, walking distance for both. Very friendly staff and lots of choices for food and drink. It was a lovely evening and we were able to sit outside on the deck. Food was great, try the supreme nachos with BBQ on them, so good! Salads were great and the kids loved their fresh asparagus with their chicken tenders!

Boat parking right at the restaurant.
Large place that can handle a crowd.
Good service. Our service was fast and our server checked back often.
We liked the roasted summer vegetable salad and the shrimp po boy sandwich.
They do charge a 3% credit card surcharge.

The hours aren't correct. Call ahead if you have limited time. Blood mary was good. Came with aMiller High life. Vanessa recommended the lobster foundau. Tasted like thick bisque. Wrap was great with roasted veggies. I'd come again for the atmosphere.

Well this place was a summer staple. After talking to the owner twice and the manager. It still took over 2 hrs for our food. Our waitress was horrible. I had to bus my own table and get my own drinks from the bar. The waitress response was they are at capacity. They had half their tables empty!!
This Muskegon staple will not last at this rate!

Stopped by because we were nearby and dinner hour approached. This was not our first visit.
The place was busy but we were seated immediately. Band was playing, people enjoying themselves all around us. The sun was beating down on the crowd sitting on the deck but nobody was complaining. It was summer! There was a breeze!
The food came out rather quickly and it was good. Portions were fair and we enjoyed eating in the nice weather.
Overall it was very good. We will be back. Quality place, quality staff and a GREAT atmosphere…….the band even did a little music from The Doors which was pretty cool.

This place could be amazing. Unfortunately the past few years the service and food has gone completely downhill. We have not had a good meal here the past three visits, so we won’t be back. We have heard many friends and family express the same. Not sure what is going on, but hopefully Dockers will take recent reviews into account and make some changes so it can be a loved choice again for area restaurants.

We stopped here for lunch on our way North. What a nice surprise. Great views of the marina and we enjoyed watching the boats go in and out. We shared peal and eat shrimp and a lobster roll. Very good! Sitting outside was so nice!!

Good food, good service, good view. I was there early in the season, so no music. I’d go back. I had the pork bowl, but my friend had the chicken… which is what I’d get next time. Fish and chips looked amazing.
