I heard that Vis is a culinary island of Croatia. Sadly my visit to this palace could not confirm this. Food was very average. Octopus was floating in the sauce soup with most of the plate filled with boiled potatoes. Something you would expect in...a ski chalet than a sea side restaurant. It was a very basic filling meal rather than a restaurant level food. Having said that price tag was very much restaurant level. The lady almost ordered me to the table. She then eased up a bit but most of the service was borderline scary. Maybe they find it charming or maybe it’s the end of the season and staff is fed up with tourists but still a bit of effort in service and more importantly food could go a long way. All in all, I won’t come back.More

The grilled lamb was full of fat and almost tasteless. The sides (rice and grilled negetablea) were below average. Nice atmosphere by the water, though.

What a gorgeous location … open-air, on the water with a view of the Komiža harbour. The service is super, and the food is really fresh and delicious. We had the mussels and monkfish brudet (for two but enough for 4). Some of us had...the local specialty, Pogaca - sardines with tomato and onion “pie”. For dessert we had the Creme brûlée, carob cake, and chocolate ice cream cake. Everything was incredibly delicious.More

This restaurant can cope with big numbers. We were a group of 14 and there was another two smaller groups as well as couples there. We were impressed with the service. They provided us with complimentary bread and a local humus appetiser. I had John...Dory with roasted vegetables and they brought three trays of veg and three of chips enough to go around hungry divers. Everyone was really pleased with the quality of their food. It is a bit more pricey but a lovely way to end a holiday.More

Nice meal in a great location. We had anglerfish and it was nice but not outstanding. The service was nice, and they opened late.

The food was great, enjoyed my squid in a red wine sauce. Had some delicious local wine from Vis. Try Vugava its a local grape. They were extremely busy, it's high season in Croatia and the service was O.K. But to be honest Croatian restaurants...don't have the best service in generalMore

This restaurant has a nice terrace and the service was very very good, but food is disappointing part of the story. Main course was too salty and killed all that nice octopus flavor. Portions are not to big and the prices are quite high. We...tried better seafood in Komiža. This is just a tourist trap.More

what a desappointment ! we were so happy to have a table because the view is great. the waitress (who I think is also one of the bosses) ruined everything! I have never seen such a rude waitress! the welcome was cold and haughty (barely...a hello), and throughout the service we did not have a single smile, nor a kind word. Everything that was asked of him seemed to bother him. To finish the bill without a single word! No thank you or goodbye, she just pointed to the bill without a single word! literally! it's so rude, we were shocked! Considering the other comments, it seems that this behavior is a habit with her ... for the food the lamb was good, the seafood pasta very disappointing. the sauce was good but hardly any seafood in it (a few small frozen shrimps (a shame by the sea!) and 3 tiny crayfish). in summary: deplorable service, uneven food quality, poor value for money. This is the first time that this has happened to us in 3 weeks in Croatia! Too bad for our first evening in Vis.More

Well, while the location is beautiful, all else was very mediocre. My risotto with shrimps was okay. When they served dishes, they didn’t explain what they brought. Which can be confusing if you ordered mixed plate:)

Amaaaazing 5* dining. My husband and I had dinner there. Everything we ordered was great, tasteful, fresh. The staff is really nice, willing to help and recommend the food as well as the drinks. We booked the table a day in advance and asked for...the best one 😀 we were sitted directly by the water, which made this experience really great!More

I went here for dinner once and didn't want to come back after that. The place was pretty busy and waiters were somewhat hectic. When I was about to order I asked whether sides are included with the main dish, and they weren't. Instead of...showing me the available options the waiter ran away, because I was taking too long to find it in the menu. It took pretty long until the food came. When it finally arrived it was almost cold, tasted pretty bland and the vegetables were overcooked. The waiter didn't bother with formalities. Food was placed in front of me without a comment, he didn't ask whether I liked my food or whether he could remove the plate when I was done either. I had to ask for the bill twice, seeing that other people that ordered the bill after me had already left. I understand that places can get busy and that one might forget an order or so. If this is compensated by a friendly smile or a few friendly words, I won't mind. In this case it was just too much to consider going there again. Especially, after trying out the place next door, where service was way better.More

Very nice setting overlooking the small bay with few private houses...you are basically having dinner/lunch on the sea. Very friendly waiters. Food: nothing else to say but excellent. Try the komicka pogača, its typical! Don’t go to Komica without eating there

We were group of 4 that wanted to have a nice dinner by the sea. Location is amazing as well as the food, service could be better, we had a really nice, always smiling waitress but she obviously had so much to do that she...couldn’t deliver service to everyone. We put this on owners or managers to give them more staff since by all the comments this is what is missing.More
