Two large families and two massive peka (one octopus, one lamb) in this great family restaurant in the hills. The food was really good, although the menu choices are quite limited. It was fine for us, as we had pre-ordered the peka (you need to...do this) but be aware. Also be aware that it is cash-only, so go fully wedged-up! Their home-grown wine was also really good - both the red and white. Although the place is 'Magica' is does not mean anything magic in the English sense of the word. It means little donkey, so I am led to believe.More

The food is amazing, the meat under the peka was melting in our mouth it was soo good! The appetizers were so good that even if that was our main meal we would be more than satisfied. The ambient is so peaceful because of the...beautiful view of the vinyard. The owners put in so much effort to remain authentic and it shows.More

This restaurant was the best one i visited while sailing in Croatia. The food was authentic and organic. Must try octopus peka and zucchini flowers.

This inland restaurant is a gem. We booked in advance( it’s only open for dinner) and accepted the helpful advice to pre-order peka and out of a choice of lamb, veal and fish,we opted for the lamb. The restaurant (a couple of miles from Vis town) is...in a delightful setting set amongst rolling hills and vineyards. We had really good starters including, fried courgette flowers, marinated anchovies and tuna carpaccio. However the meal’s highlight(see picture) was certainly the lamb dish itself- beautifully slow-roasted meat ( which fell off the bone)with crisp potatoes and carrots. The restaurant also produces its own organic wines and we found both the red and white to be very good and certainly some of the best Croatian wine I have ever tasted.Last but not least, note that the restaurant provides a taxi service both to and from the restaurant.More

Went in a crowd of 18. Pre-ordered the Octopus, Lamb and Fish Peka. Was absolutely scrumptious, although the octopus is not something I eat, my friends raved about it. The Lamb was out of this world. We loved the “Magic” wine, not a lot of...house wines in Croatia we enjoyed, but this one was good. Setting is delightful, but be prepared to pay top dollar. Transport to the restaurant was supposed to be included but we had that added to the bill too. Just be sure to ask what will be charged for. Besides expense it was an amazing experience. (Tip for Croatian travelers on a budget.... most restaurants give you bread, pates and olives on your table to start, this gets put on your bill.)More

Great atmosphere and view from the terrace, everage service, good food but way overpriced. Grilled fish was great, peka was good, but a bit heavy. The place is not screaming to come back

We had a lovely time and would certainly recommend. Our party of 6 pre-ordered the octopus and lamb specials and they didn’t disappoint. Yes they were in a heavy sauce and maybe a tad salty, but they were both very tasty. The waitress suggested a...platter of mixed starters which we enjoyed too. We all shared a couple of homemade desserts - lovely! Their own Magic white wine was very drinkable to the extent of 4 bottles between us. Had we been on Vis longer, we would have returned and slowly worked through the menu. A delightful vineyard/village type dinning experience. The bill was £50 a head, not bad considering the amount of food and alcohol! (Once you understand the menu and how to order your food here, I am sure the bills would come down.)More

We had lamb "peka" and to be honest it might be the the best peka we have ever had. The taste and the amount of mat was more than you can expect. The staff is very friendly and the dining tables are separated in a...way that you can always have some privacy. Definitely one of best restaurants on Vis and would definitely recommend to visit. And on top of that they organize transfer from Vis port for free.More

We were three and pre-ordered lamb under the peka. Food was served on time and from that perspective I do not have any remarks. The rest wasn't nearly good. Lamb was too salty so one couldn't feel any other taste. Bread that was supposed to...be domestic was dry and I seriously doubt it was fresh and prepared by them. To say that wine (their own wine in a bottle) was avarge is a compliment. Overall judgment: overpriced food and an over-rated place! P.S. I read reviews in superlatives by local food experts and bloggers and what I have experienced is far below their opinion and ratings. I didn't complain on spot as I was invited for a dinner and didn't want to spoil our evening furthermore.More
