Located right on Lake Superior with a million dollar view. Drink portions were excellent. The bartender was friendly and made us feel welcomed. A few of the regular patrons welcomed us and gave us advice on where to visit and eat. We did not have...any food since it was later in the evening and they were not serving any. If you're a Legion member then be sure to stop in this place!More

Usually we get our whitefish at The Fish Basket but decided to try the American Legion Friday night fish fry. Friendly small town atmosphere. Excellent whitefish & fries. Will be back to try the walleye, perch and lake trout.

They were out of whitefish by the time I got there, so I had the perch and fries, hot perfectly prepared and very tasty. I got mine to go and ate it at the campground.

What a treat to visit the American Legion when visiting the region. Great central location, on the water. Friendly people, food served a few days a week. We always stop in for a few drinks when in town.

We saw the sign outside advertising the fish fry that evening and decided it would be a good choice after a dreadful meal at Foggy's the night before. The American Legion is a classy place, but they had excellent service with wonderful food. There was...a small salad bar with fresh lettuce and fixings, again nothing fancy. My husband had lake trout and I had haddock. The breading was thin and didn't get in the way of the flavor of the fish. My haddock was flaky and cooked perfectly. Wonderful!More

I was excited to try burger night at the American Legion in Munising. It turned out to be nothing special.

While in town, be sure to stop in for the Friday fish-fry! Public is welcome! The place was packed at 5:30p so, arrive early! Walk in and sit yourself down. If there are no tables available, there is plenty of seating at the bar. They...will bring a menu. This is not an AYCE but, portions are plentiful. My husband and I shared a 4 (large) piece Whitefish meal and we did not leave hungry. It came with a salad bar and french fries. The girl behind the bar was friendly and was working hard taking care of all of us. She did a phenomenal job! Fish is lightly breaded and has a great flavor! Definitely worth the wait! I wish we were going to be here next Friday, we would definitely be back!More

Had a great time at this bnb place. Food was fantastic. People were friendly and the bartender mixed great drinks, what's not to love about this place!

While in the Munising area for a week, we looked forward to the Friday nite fish fry at the American Legion the whole time. We were not disappointed. The dinner was very good with a wide selection of 'fish' including walleye and perch. It is...NOT all-you-can-eat but the servings were very adequate. We got the walleye and perch and shared. The salad bar is a nice 'go with'. Prices were reasonable and varied with choice of fish. NOTE: drinks from the bar are only served to A/L members. We got there right at the start of the serving time [5:30 I think] and were seated immediately. However, I must comment that for newbies, like us, there was no receptionist/hostess to 'direct traffic', and we were lost until we asked someone how the meal worked. [You just take a seat and someone comes to you with menu, etc. Next time we will know.] We found the service to be adequate but not overly friendly. It was also a bit noisy as some of the patrons were well into their evenings bar tab.More
