Despite mostly positive reviews on Google, this restaurant left us disappointed. The service was good, considering that they were very busy. They only accept reservations for large groups, so we had to wait for a table. Again, this can be expected on a Saturday, but the wait was twice as long as what we were told. My wife got salmon which was cold and overcooked. The waitress promptly replaced it with chicken that was only marginally better. My steak was ordered medium, but was more like medium well. Also, the menu stated that the steak came with 2 sides but the waitress said it only came with one, so I was charged for the 2nd side. On a positive note. The beer I ordered was good and the Scotch Eggs were great, probably the best part of the experience.

We found Mountain Town Station through the Harvest Host RV camping site. We had a very good dinner and beer on the brewery side of the Mountain Town restaurant (which is separate from the higher end steak house). Regarding camping, they have a great field behind the restaurant for parking. There were 4 campers the night we were there, with plenty of room between. They also have a municipal water faucet to tank up with water if needed. Host Jim was excellent in communication and stopped by to say Hi as we were arriving. Highly recommend this for an overnight stop in Michigan. (The historic downtown Mt Pleasant just down the street looked nice too.)

We stayed overnight as part of our Harvest Hosts (HH) membership in our RV and loved it! Natural setting with great parking area in the back parking lot area as well as some grassy area. A family of deer stayed nearby and we met another HH couple staying there as well. We did not get to partake the restaurant itself due to the time of night but Jim, the Host, was quick to respond each time we made an inquiry and we plan to go back and partake another time!

What happened?
This used to be my favorite place. Now the menu has changed. The portions are become smaller. The steak that I got was hard and tough and difficult to cut even with a steak knife. What a shame this used to be my favorite place. What happened to the beef brisket and barbecue that was the best thing about this place? It’s all gone now. What a shame.

Hey Mike, thanks for the feedback. We needed to make some adjustments to the menu to keep menu costs down for our customers. Restaurants live on volume and making the menu affordable helps with more frequent visits. The Summit Smokehouse opened up down the road taking many of BBQ customers who enjoyed our brisket and BBQ. There are more revision coming to the menu that will bring back more steak options. Thank you again for the feedback and the 2 star review.

Do not recommend! Our waiter acted like he wanted to be elsewhere the whole time, which I find super annoying! I ordered the prime rib and ordered it medium. It came out super thin and overcooked. When I didn’t want the asparagus that came with the meal, no substitute was offered. The baked potato came out barely warm and hard. $25 for this was highway robbery. It was more like a $10 Ponderosa meal!

Had a great experience! Atmosphere is fun and casual. Our server was a hoot and made our dinner so
Much fun. We both had the pecan encrusted Walleye and baked potato. Big portions are served. We started with the spinach/ artichoke dip which was unique and very tasty. Good wine list.

Was in here tonight with family for a meal. For the type of establishment this is, the food and quality are very subpar. Ordered the ribs which are the signature item along with their home brewed in house brewed gamblers golden lager. The ribs were somewhat disappointing and dry while the beer was good. Service was also not very prompt. This used to be an excellent little restaurant but the food and service seems to have gone downhill in recent years

Selected restaurant as the top rated in Trip Adviser in the city. Ordered St Louis style ribs and baked potato.
The baked potato was quite hard, undercooked. The ribs were very dry with little flavor. It was hard to understand what kind of meat or preparation could have produced such an unpleasant dinner.
I am very reluctant to complain about a meal like this. The price was v high as well.
I was offered a free desert but no other compensation. My wife liked what she had ordered.

Hands down our family’s favorite Mt. Pleasant restaurant. Our daughter attends CMU, and we make a trip here each time we visit. They have the BEST menu (ask for the gluten free pizza crust, if you need it...not on the menu but HUGHLY appreciated and delicious). So many other amazing entrees as well - regular pizza, the ribs, French dip, Mac n cheese, etc. Clean, family friendly, attentive staff. Yeah...always our first choice! :)

Great location and overall vibe to the restaurant. Our server, Matthew was very good, not bothersome, but right there when you needed him. Food was all served hot, quickly, and oh so tasty. Each of us in our party of three had a different entree, and we were all pleased with our meal, same for the beers. Each was a little different, none were bad, all of them were nice and cold. This is not a chain restaurant and it shows in the high quality food and service. We met the owner, he was as pleasant as could be. Based on this experience, we will most certainly return.

We stopped here on a late Sunday afternoon (after lunch, before dinner), and had no problems getting seated..although it did start to fill up quickly. Our server was very efficient and got to us quickly after being seated. The overall atmosphere feels like a home sports bar, with lots of woodwork, TVs, and old brewing equipment....but, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The menu had a decent variety, and our party of four all found something we liked.
The food portions were decent, and the food taste was solid all around. The pickle fries were great!
Overall, this isn't a good place to eat in Mt. Pleasant!

My brother, our friend and I enjoyed our entrees and drinks during dinner time on a Saturday. We were seated immediately without reservations. I enjoyed the pricy but large portion of shrimp broccoli Alfredo that was excellent. I also ordered a take out stone fired BBQ pizza for the family. This again was on the pricier side but was also excellent.
Our service was great especially since she had a table of 8 and 12 that she was working by herself. Full bar, high/low top and patio seating. Large parking lot. Clean and classy. Somewhat loud with crowds. Unsure if they had wifi.
I would return when back in the area.

Went there based on Trip Advisors top rating only to be disappointed. The service was awful and food mediocre. Waiter never came back 45 minutes after serving. My recommendation is to go elsewhere if you’re traveling from out of town.

An above average pub type restaurant. A varied menu with plenty of choices with some twists on traditional items. Our meal was good and well prepared.
They also are a micro brewery. The beer was fine, but not spectacular.
The wait staff was 5 star. Prompt and attentive.
Definitely a place to go again.
