This is by far one of the best meals we have ever experienced. Cudo to the chef! My order of duck with an orange sauce was exceptionally good and very most. The steak my husband ate was prepared just as he ordered and likes it. If this restaurant were close to our home we would frequent it often!

This is a rural towns version of a high class restaurant. The prices were higher but it seemed lacking the fine details that go with a high end dining experience. The ambiance was the star here. Kudos to the interior designer. The host sat four people at a table with three seats, came back and asked if we would like another chair. I cannot make this up. We laughed so hard. The wait staff were kind and did what they could without having a floor staff to assist them, taking away from their attention to the patrons. Table had overcooked risotto, salty steak, and sides that were not described on the menu. Which interestingly enough were the best tasting creamy potatoes I’ve had. After desert was done, the comment “I still haven’t ever had Pavlova” was made. We had a little laugh about it. In the end the kitchen was the weakest link. We had fun and enjoyed the evening.

Hadn’t visited this restaurant in quite a while as we do t get up to Mt. Pleasant very often anymore. I’d read some negative reviews, which concerned me. This restaurant had become a favorite, and I was concerned it had lost its appeal. Thankfully that is not the case. Was in Mt. Pleasant unexpectedly so we decided to check out our favorite restaurant. We were seated immediately in the dining room, and I wish I remembered the name of our server because she was truly an excellent server. We each got a cocktail…I had the white sangria, and my husband had the Lost Dog. He liked it so much he had two! We each had the House Salad with the pears and pecans…it was delicious. For our dinner, my husband had the ribeye but substituted broccoli for the creamed spinach. I had an appetizer as my entree…the Honey Walnut Shrimp…EXCELLENT! Since we had a 2.5 hour drive ahead of us we skipped dessert. Probably should have gotten it to go! If you’re on the fence about going here, jump off it and run to The Brass Cafe. It’s still a wonderful little restaurant in Mt. Pleasant, MI!

the Walleye dinner was horrible. cutting through coating into cold, raw meat was beyond belief. My husband sent it back, just finished his bread and appetizer( salmon good). I ordered the ribeye- it was seasoned to the max with salt/ seasoning which ruined a wonderful looking piece of meat. I sent it back with the scalloped potatoes that had an extremely salty topping which was equally terrible. My replacement cut of meat came raw.. sent it back. The bread basket is not worth $4, heated bread from somewhere. At least management didn’t argue about our request to remove entrees from the bill! we thoroughly enjoyed the ice tea and our great waitress, Lauren. But, we won’t be back…

My husband had the Cherry Duck and it was good, if not a bit chewy. The cherries were delicious. He also had the vegetable spring rolls for a starter, and they were good too. He loved his Mezcal Mule, while I really enjoyed the hot bourbon cider. I had a salad to start, and with the pears and pecans, it was super. I then had the appetizer of honey shrimp for my main and it was SO tasty. Finishing the spiced walnuts with my hot cider was a great dessert. Service was friendly enough, but they seemed a little short staffed, as they were constantly running. We didn't have to wait too long between courses.

Great experience. Service was fast and friendly. Good selection of Michigan craft beers. Outdoor seating was comfortable. There are umbrellas at every table. Waitress heard us discuss splitting a couple items. Came plated separately. Had wedge salad with grilled chicken and a burger with fries. Burger, chicken, and bun were actually grilled and so tasty. Fries were handcut and also delicious.

Where do I start? I Planned a trip a month ago. Going to see Johnny Mathis, and wanted a great first class place to take my wife. I made reservations at another place. The day of our 3 hour trip I discovered that restaraunt closed for December. I scrambled. The manager of The Brass called me back, made room, and treated us like VIPs from beginning to end. The oysters were OUTSTANDING. The salmon? OUTSTANDING! The filet? OUTSTANDING! Cocktails spot on, and service a perfect mix of small town sweetness and normalcy with fine dining appropriateness.

It is a quaint place. I love the variety of the menu. Duck, Chicken, Steak, Seafood. Our server, Jessie, was very good. Food was delicious, served hot, and a great amount. We left feeling very full. Would return if we are back in the area.

The service was absolutely wonderful, and it's a great atmosphere! We loved the food. The brussel sprout appetizer is a must-have. If you want a 4-star experience with a casual vibe in Mt. Pleasant, this is the place to try!

I hosted a business dinner at the Brass Cafe. The restaurant surprised and exceeded my expectations, not least because Mount Pleasant doesn't exactly have many good restaurants. The menu was extensive with something for everything. The steaks and seafood entrees that we ordered came out perfectly cooked and nicely plated. However, many menu selections seemed heavy on sauce and carbs. A good piece of meat or fish doesn't need to be covered in sauce. The wine list was equally extensive. Probably the best wine list in the immediate area, at least outside the steakhouse in the Indian tribe casino. Service was attentive and what you expect for the prices. My only complaints? 1) Reservations can't be made online. It would be nice if they used OpenTable or another similar platform. 2) I left a pair of eyeglasses at the restaurant. When I called later that evening and the following day, the staff said they couldn't find them. I don't know how a pair of eyeglasses left on the table goes missing without someone seeing them since it's unlikely that someone would steal a pair of prescription eyeglasses. All things considered, I would return when in Mount Pleasant.

The restaurant smelled moldy inside. The food was over priced with very small portions. Would not recommend.

My wife and I choose The Brass for special occasions. We like the unique items on the menu. Service was fast, friendly and accurate. Food was excellent as we expected. If you have not been there yet, give it a try.

Don’t Take This Wrong! The food was very good the service was more than fair! The problem was pricing, on the site it shows $$-$$$ which should indicate moderate prices......they are anything but! A cheap dinner is $28-34 and a sandwich is $15-20 simple appetizers which were good start around $10 and a glass of wine (not a long pour) is minimum of $9! With a decent tip 20% you won’t get out for less than $70-80! That is not a moderate cost dinner!

I thought it was good,. Most of the people in my group thought it was very good. I think I'm more into food and they'r more into ambiance. However, I wasn't impressed with that either.
