The NICEST employees

I had lunch here with my mom on Tuesday, October 6. There were two young men working that day and they were the absolute nicest people. They gave us menu recommendations, provided prompt service, paid attention to detail, and were clearly taking great care in their work. Our food was good too :).

Unique restaurant with great food

Great place for late night food! 4 out of 4 of us loved our hotdogs. Fries where hot and fresh. Staff was friendly. We would go back.

It's Hotdogs. I know, but they are the BEST hot dogs you've ever had. Even the Buns are amazing. Get a basket of fries to share with the table.

Great Hot dogs, the best French fries

Dog Central was featured on Man vs Food with Casey Webb completing their hot dog challenge. Cool place to visit with a wide variety of hot dog specialties. We tried the Detroit, Dirty Dig, Cuban, and Philly Cheese. All were delicious! But, I have to say the beer battered French fries stole the show, they were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle - perfect!

Great Selection of ales!

My husband wanted a hot dog (he's not a fan of the so called "coneys" in this town). Thankfully I remembered this place. Loved the selection of dogs and for me the selection of hard cidars. The cashier was great and suggested something I hadn't tried before and it was pretty good. Great service! I did make a suggestion for for a new dog that is my favorite from International Dog House in Jackson! It's a swiss dog and he said he'd pass it on. Can't ask for anything more. I'm hoping the next time I visit it will be on the menu!

Odd location wonderful dogs

We had a hard time finding this location. Maps wasn't sending us to the right place but it was so worth finding!!! Upon recommendation we chose this place to eat after a late show. The people behind the counter were helpful in deciding which dogs to get. We were told we had to get the fries... which we were not disappointed! The dogs were all excellent and the fries memorable. We got there at midnight but after we received our food we noticed the place fill up very quickly! They must have wait times but the day if it was that busy at that time!

Great food - if you happen to go on a "Good Day"

This place could really be great, but it is a bit "hit or miss" depending on when you happen to arrive. Some days, everything is excellent! Other days, not so much -- ranging from general uncleanliness to stale dog buns. On several occasions, I have been there when the tables and such just need some general cleanup ir a wipe-down -- and yet the staff are just in the back chatting or on their phones. When there are no customers being waited on, they need to be making sure the place has been cleaned up. In the summer, the front door is often left open to try to cool it down, but that just brings in flies. The flies have been an ongoing problem seen every summer since they opened. I also happen to have a schedule that means I'm coming in from lunch or dinner during the less busy times. Unfortunately, that seems to mean stale buns for me on a regular basis. If I happen to come in when they are busy, then that doesn't happen. But come in at 3pm or 7pm or some other slower time, and the buns have clearly been sitting out way too long. I love the place on the good days -- the food can be great and the staff is always friendly -- but not enough of my visits have been "good days" lately.

Thanks for the feedback, John. I think it’s actually the opposite as since we’re slow, no buns are in the steamer and in an attempt at being speedy they do not give them enough time. I will make sure this is addressed today. Thanks John!

If you have not stopped in lately, stop reading this review and go right now! Lol. If you’ve never been and this review will help you decide, go right now! 😬 This is already a local favorite. But they continue to up their game by adding new items. My favorites are the “Elote Dog” & “Cuban Dog” and you have to get fries!! Great staff, Great food, what more do you need.

Delicious and friendly!

We will definitely be coming back to this awesome, one of a kind hot dog restaurant! Saw them on Man vs. Food and made the trip it mount pleasant just to eat here... didn’t disappoint! My husband and I both got Mac n cheese on our dog and split the fries, between us two adults and a toddler we had MORE than enough fries to share! Delicious and worth a try!

There are so many kinds of hotdogs! My personal favorite is "Cowboy dog" - onion rings and BBQ sauce on hotdog. Their veggie dog is good also. You must try and see it yourself! 😊

Disappointed

Stopped in bc of Man vs Food episode. Had the Detroit Dog and wow.... Nothing what I would have expected. The hot dog was fresh but hardly any Coney sauce but lots of mustard.... That's all I tasted....I expected more of a true Detroit Coney taste.... May try again and something else.... Truly would not call a "signature" dog

Perfect for the College Crowd!

I do want to say, love the décor, staff is very friendly, LOTS of choices for your dog and cute T-shirts. The only reason I gave this an average rating was because the actual "dog" was pretty small, but toppings and side/drink choices plentiful. Prices were not bad, this is a great hangout stop for the college crowd. And for CMU students which my son is one, good specials where they can get a fill up for their buck!

Quick food grab

Good hot hog selection. Enjoyed my Mac Daddy dog. The crew loved the fries. The pickiest eater said they were the best fries ever, probably. Everyone found something they liked. The owner was there and was really nice. The dining area and bathroom were clean. Will stop in again.
