When it's the only place opened to eat on Labor Day you eat here. So glad we stopped! Husband got the normal hamburger with house chips. I got the Aloha tater tots ( Crispy tater tots covered with bbq pulled pork and pineapple salsas) friend got the chicken sandwich. Food was amazing! We will be back

First Visit, and It Was A Delight!

First outing for eat-in meal in a year brought 4 of us to Riverdog. Lovely meals: Southwest Salad, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Cajun Chicken Tacos, BBQ Shrimp + Andouille flatbread pizza. Very generous portions, nice presentation, great spice combos. The interior space is beautiful, tables (for COVID time) spaced well apart, staff is attentive and responsive. All in all a wonderful meal and experience.

Veronica Rocks!

This is an adorable place in a cute downtown, I decided to stop and check it out. It was approx 6:30pm, I arrived and was promptly seated. I sat for approx 15 mins until I politely asked a server clearing a table nearby if I could place an order as no one had come to the table. She (Veronica) was not my server but, was so apologetic, took my order, and promptly delivered it. The food was absolutely delicious! A man arrived and was sat at a table across from me, same situation, sat while I ate my entire meal. When Veronica returned to check on me, I shared that he had been sitting, she was so gracious to also take his table despite both tables belonging to another server. Wow! What a rockstar! Keep up the great work Veronica 😁 Shout out to the kitchen team, the food was top notch, hot and delicious. I love the cute dog sweaters for sale as well, nice added touch, beautifully displayed.

Great perch

I am from Florida and every time I visit family in the area we go to Riverdog. I find it very hard to get past the perch and fries dinner. Prepared perfectly, presented well and served with a great selection of local beers on tap. What more could anyone need.

Next to the worst service we have experienced.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch after church today. Upon entering, there was a sign showing some of the specials but nothing such as "please wait to be seated" so we stepped in (as there was nobody to greet us) and saw a two seat table at the front window. We sat down, and waited...and waited. When another couple and teen came in, was greeted and seated next to us. They were brought waters, menus etc. They were able to put in their orders and it was only after that we were handed menus (after we flagged down the hostest). It again waited for a waitress but to no avail. Meanwhile, an occasional waitress stood at the hostess station as if needing something to do. I looked at my wife at this point and stated that I was ready to go elsewhere, which we did. We ended up taking a drive to Applebees, got greeted, seated and served in a very short time even though they were as busy as Riverdog. I asked for the manager and praised her for having such a "get it done" team. I will not go back to Riverdog again and will not recommend them to anyone that I know. Your loss Riverdog, get your act together or you will not be around for long. It appears that we were not the only ones that encountered this type of issue (read some of the reviews).

Lunch nightmare

Went to take my daughter's for lunch. Waited almost an hour for apps. No food no body even came to let us know what was going on. Food was mediocre and not hot or fresh.

not as good as it was

We haven't back to the Riverdog until this past week. We stopped in around 5 and the bar was pretty empty. We had a great bartender/server so my issue isn't with the service but more with the chef. We ordered appetizers and the ahi? Not real fresh and sliced in thick portions but the flavor was off. We also ordered the spicy shrimp which was oaky but the potstickers? Avoid them. They were hard to bite in to and harder to chew.. Booze choices are some what limited (especially mainstream bourbons) but a good choice of IPA's.. Overall? A C-....

Out of the way - but certainly worth the trip...

Was attending a soccer game at TK Middle School, and wanted lunch after the game. Went to the Riverdog Tavern and certainly weren't disappointed. Had the Mufalatta - one of the best I have had. The fried Brussel Sprouts were awesome. Truffle fries and a variety of other dishes filled the table and no one had any issues. This is an out of the way place - but certainly worth the trip and we will be going back! Great service and good prices, also.

I would choose another place

First of all, I travel by myself a lot and always sit at the bar. In every state, it is not legal to have children or anyone under 21 sit at the bar. I enjoy sitting at the bar when I am by myself to engage with other adults for networking or to just have some quiet time away from, well families. Could not believe that children were at the bar and the adults were discussing strip clubs in front of them. The bartender, Andrew was excellent but the rest of my time there was not. The other servers just stand at the end of the bar. Not one offered me a menu or a water while Andrew poured their drinks that they just rang in. I ordered the fish dip and it had oil laying all around the fish dip and looked like a can of tuna was playing in a pool with mayonnaise. Just disgusting. The beer was great but I will never return to this establishment.

Neighborhood Type Atmosphere

Cute place in a quaint old downtown area. Food and service were very good. Better than the typical bar/tavern food. So many great choices that I am already looking forward to a return visit. We just had sandwiches which were very good ... looking forward to trying an entree. They do offer gluten free items.

This was an excellent dinner. I had the fish tacos which were very good although the rice could’ve used a little more flavor. The pizza appetizer was excellent, the spinach salad was excellent and the jambalaya was excellent. I was shocked that such good food could come out of such a small village. This is big city taste in a small town and it’s very nice

Great Atmosphere -Good Food!!!

Went for lunch. Very busy, but got seated fast and our food came out fairly quickly. Had the salad/sandwich combo. Was very good. Like the tall ceilings - atmosphere. Really like the corkboard with photos of diner's dogs. Will definitely go back.

Buffet was sparse and food was room temp. Beef and ham were overcooked, dry, and tough. Food was terrible as was the service. Will not make a repeat visit.

The food is to die for, delicious and plenty of it. The service is great-waitresses friendly and the wait perfect. The chef is great, changes the menu frequently and knows what he’s doing. You will very much enjoy your visit here.
