Dead River Coffee Roasters
Review
About
We're a small, quirky cafe and roastery located on the shores of Lake Superior. We opened our doors in 2002 and earned the title "First roaster in the UP". We believe in quality and consistency, excellent customer service, and serving everyone who comes in our doors A Damn Good Cup of Coffee. All of our beans are roasted on site or just up the road at our production space, we bake scones in house and source other goodies from other local bakers. Our house made syrups won't let you go back to that 'other stuff'. We love what we do, and we want to share our passion with you! Come say hi for a cup or a bag of coffee. We can't wait to meet you.

Homemade Vanilla Syrup! I highly recommend to stop by this coffee shop. I don’t normally take more than just half-&-half in my coffee, but I had to try their homemade syrup with a cold brew that I got. Not only do they offer great coffee, they’re extremely good practicing COVID guidelines. They have it where you order outside, they regular wipe down their iPad and all staff are wearing masks. Overall a great stop!

I had a latte here and it was delicious (and I am a picky coffee drinker). Whoever is roasting these beans is doing it right. Friendly staff, great seating outside, small gift shop inside. Worth a stop.

Cold blustery day ….just what we needed. Walking the lakeshore and decided that a coffee as what was needed. Found this quaint little place . Brown sugar cinnamon coffee hit the spot. Thanks for doing what you do and do it well.

I think this coffee is good and I am fairly picky when it comes to fresh brew. I do have an issue with this place and no longer feel I can go there. It seems to be a hang out spot for an older local man who is a customer there most weekdays and something about him sets off my radar so I will no longer frequent this establishment.

The coffees were fantastic and the scones were fresh. The Chai was home brewed and natural - not syrup out of a container. The coffee was so good we took grounds home with us. The staff are so friendly and we can’t wait to visit again.

This is a small coffee shop where they roast their own beans in the shop. The people were nice and the cold brew was great.

This coffee joint not only smells amazing when you enter, but it also roasts the coffee beans in the front of the store. The americano tasted great and I look forward to returning.

Good local coffee shop. Not the best coffee I’ve ever had, but a neat place to visit in town. Service was a great and worth checking out!

Stopped in for Saturday morning coffee before embarking on our walk through lovely downtown Marquette ( they open at 9 on Saturdays). Asked for and received excellent information on hiking spots in the area and directions. Very welcoming place, although we took our coffee to go.

Had a great latte. The beans roasted at the store had a great smooth taste. Bought a pound to take home. The homemade blueberry pie was awesome. Tasted the blueberries. No syrupy or sugary taste. When we go back to Marquette will be stopping again

I just found this little coffee house not too long ago and stopped in. I’ve been coming here most Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays now. They roast their own coffee, brew it and damn! It’s wonderful! The staff is friendly, it’s not overly busy when I’m there and the pastries are great with the coffee. It’s really one of those nice little spots that pretty much the locals hit up. Its a little “hidden gem”. If you just want to relax a bit, smell the coffee, drink the coffee, read a book, listen to some relaxing music....yep. I’d definately suggest this place.
