The ambiance is amazing! I only wish the food was too! I ordered the crab poppers, the combo plate of broasted chicken and cod, with a baked potato and side salad minus cranberry and radishes! The poppers were “ok” but definitely store bought. The chicken...was dry but had good flavor, the cod was ok but greasy, the baked potato was less baked and more potato! My salad had sliced radishes all over it but no cranberry so there is that! I have an issue with that fact that so many things were done wrong or just not done to my asking! I personally would not recommend this place for anything but a drink or two and the ambiance.More

We went for breakfast at 11:10 am, sat for 10 minutes and we asked about substituting tomatoes for hash browns and the waitress informed us the “cooks” were only serving lunch. I politely asked her if they could make an exception for my waffle- obsessed...children , she came back a couple minutes later and said the cooks said no so we walked out. I did explain that online and on the men it said breakfast til noon.More

We ended up in here during our trip and were so impressed. The service was second to none. The bar staff knew all the other customers by name but we also didn’t feel out of place. The best food at the best price we’ve had...during our stay. Would recommend to everyoneMore

Went here for the first time. Almost like going back 100 years as far as the bar looks. We had a Ruben sandwich. It was huge and very tasted. We also ate a cup of the Pepper jack crab soup. It was like a chowder...without the corn. It was wonderful. The place was busy so the kitchen was slow….wait time about 30 minutes. But other than that it was a great lunch. We will return. Prices were very reasonable.More

This little out of the way place was recommended by a total stranger in a bank parking lot and I am so glad she did! It is a very quaint and rustic restaurant with a really good and reasonable breakfast. Service was great. The bar...looked like it was out of the old west. I am looking forward to a return trip for lunch and dinner.More

The atmosphere here is ECLECTIC! Lol, they have done an interesting job of decorating the walls with old knick knacks and Celebrities like Marilyn Monroe. The bar area has an old timey decorated barwall and tin ceilings. It all works to make a fun atmosphere....I ordered the Broasted (2) Pork Chops ($14), with red skin potatoes and a garden salad ($2 upgrade). The pork chops looked great, taste wise though they were only a little above average. I needed ketchup to eat it. The salad was very good and redskins were excellent, my favorite thing in fact. The service was excellent. Friendly and quick even though they were packed and hectic. Overall a 3 1/2 star review. Since I need to round, I've decided to go up. This is because they seem really popular and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Would I return? Yes, I would give them a 2nd chance, only I'd get something else!More

An older bar in downtown Manistee. Interesting decor. Chicken was really good! Service was good. A little hard to find but well worth looking for!

We were told anout this place when we mived here, but due to Covid they had take out only. Their to-go dinners were good, but now that they are open, its even better. Bustling, chatter-filled setting with excellent food. Usually have a wait, unless going...off peak times. Love the Reuben, fsmily lives the hot beef or hot turkey sandwiches offered as midweek specials. Definitely a "go" for dining.More

Friendly service, packed with locals... cute decor, food was okay..... In my opinion the fried cod was greasy, but tasted good...baked potato was not done completely. Food was served hot and with a smile.

What a hidden gem. The food and service were excellent! Very reasonably priced and large menu. I had their broasted chicken and my husband had the wet burrito. Even the side salad was great.

We were spending the day in Manistee and didn't know where to have dinner. We asked the navigation system in our car and selected a family restaurant in town. But when we arrived it was closed. Now we needed to make another choice. So we...selected The Painted Lady and started following the route. We thought something was wrong as we were driving in a more residential area and then saw The Painted Lady. It was an older building that didn't have many windows so you couldn't see the interior. A bit apprehensive, we entered to a fun surprise. The old building definitely had character! One section was mostly the bar area and the other section had more tables. Unique paraphernalia was hanging everywhere. It was fun to look at and generated lots of conversation. Our server, Brooke, was great! She knew everything about the menu, was friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the broasted chicken and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!More

Definitely for the adventuresome, just finding it is an adventure. Don't let the outside fool you, the food is good and sourced locally. Lots of lake choices. Since it was lunch for us, we had the Pepper-Jack, Bacon Cheeseburger, simply delicious, and the Reuben, the...corned beef was very flavorful. DIdn't have dinner or breakfast but were assure but local dinners both are very popular.More

First of the décor is terrible, just down right terrible! When you walk the floor feels very un even, and like it's going to cave in. There is a weird smell that just stays around, and after you leave it is on your clothes. Second...the food, everything tastes like it came from the frozen section and was microwaved! The chicken is okay but literally wouldn't eat anything else! The girls that work there all seem angry, like they are annoyed that you came into there business and you disrupted them.More
