They were NOT busy, only about 6 other tables (only 3 of which our waitress had)..took 10 minutes to get drinks ..food came faster this time and was very good but again had to wait until end of meal to get more coffee and even then it was the busboy(busman) that gave it to us...the other waitress was running around... The food is good but the hours are limited. The beer battered cod is excellent. The chicken is broasted but you would swear it was fried.

I won't leave a breakfast review but have never had a bad one and have even gotten to meet Shirley who stopped... More

We love Shirley's. So kind and wonderful are the staff. The bread is warm, fresh, and delicious. Every stop, every time is a great experience.

Friday evening's all you can eat cod is a great deal. The house salad is one of the best and the price is quite reasonable.

Second try...waited a couple of years to try it again, as our first experience was not so great. This time, they still have a very young group cooking and serving....service was slow and there was like two other tables. Lots of people hovering around the bar area, but couldn't get a refill or my check when I wanted it. Like... More

We were making the trip between traverse city and boyne and needed some food. I love to hit up local places but you never know what you'll get. Well this place was fabulous! Best blueberry pancakes ever. Omelette chock full of meat. Hash browns fried in crack. Nice thick toast. More expensive than I would've thought but worth every penny.... More

Read reviews and decided to give Shirley's a try for breakfast on our way to Traverse City. 9:00 a.m. few customers, dirty table not cleared yet. Inquired on the turkey sausage to see if it was local, wait staff didn't know but checked on. Asked if corned beef hash was house made and it is not. Hubby settled on the... More
