Pasties were good. Not the same type I am accustomed too, but overall the ingredients were very tasty. I had the beef with gravy. The gravy was good, not too salty. I wasn’t a huge fan of the crust but the beef and vegetables inside...were well cooked and had good flavor. Not much table space inside.More
We came from the upper Pennisula and stopped to grab these for the family dinner later in the day as well as our lunch. Just bland and without the flavor of the historical pasties I am familiar with.
The breakfast pastie was the best of...the group we purchased.More
The employee was friendly, but these are not close to being authentic pasties. We'be never had vegetable oil in any of our pasties. Not only does Mackinac Pasties use vegetable oil, but it drenched the pasties and was running on to the plate. I always...eat every bit of pasty on my plate. For the first time ever, I threw over half of the pasty away.More
I had pasties here in 2018 and they were portable and authentic. Not so now. The crust is wrong and i see either grease or juice at the bottom of my pastie. No wonder they serve them flat in takeout containers. Hence not portable like...a pastie should be served. Go to lehto's in st Ignace for an authentic pastieMore
first, the double chocolate cookie was amazing. tried the chicken and beef pasties with gravy and both were good. large portion and serving size for the price. place was busy when we arrived, yet wait wasn’t too bad. did takeout and heated the pasties in...the oven later. pastie dough wasn’t thick, inside the pastie was good amount of meat with the veggies. everyone enjoyed their dinner.More
We drove up to pick up to get a batch of pasties for the freezer. Donna was great to work with! If you call ahead, they have the order ready...but until everything opens back up, it's frozen only to pick up either Monday or Wednesday...around noon.
They have traditional beef, but also offer a great chicken and also great veggie. We always throw in a cooler if we're going to Mackinaw City or the Island--just to stop here!More
I never had a pastie so hot and fresh as I did here on Feb 17, 2020. I been snowmobiling in the U.P. since the late 80's and never knew the place existed until I found it by pure accident. One thing I can say...is this will be my pit stop from now on going forward without question. Try it and you will love it!More
Always a must stop place when coming back from the U.P. or in Mackinaw City. Not only do we eat one there, but take a dozen home to put in the freezer, because they are that good!! Don't waste your money on the cookies, but...go for the gold, the original pastie...the beef. YUM!!More
