Although we stayed at the Grand, we decided to try out some of the local restaurants downtown. Seabiscuit had the best Whitefish Chowder, with a nice smoky flavor. Moderate prices for the entrees, with modest proportions (this is a plus - who needs a supersized...meal every time? It's not like we could take leftovers back to the hotel...) Service was friendly and efficient. Recommended.More

very casual and cute little place right in the middle of town. We went here for dinner. I had the perch tacos. YUMMY ! My husband had the Whitefish and chips and he also liked his meal. Food was good prices were reasonable for the...island. Give it a try , it's a winner!More

Small pub decorated with lots of horse accoutrements but food was really good and service excellent. Prices were on the higher end as we spent only slightly less than Pink Pony. Loved the shrimp and grits, very flavorful and perfect size for dinner. Wife had...a salad with chicken which she really enjoyed and was filling but at $24 is high for a salad. Kids liked their cheeseburger meals and thought it was better than other burgers they recently had.More

Good food, fast and friendly! Great added touch to see the Toby Maguire film playing! Was as expensive as expected but nice portions and good to sit inside away from the crush of the crowds.

We were there about 1:30. We were hungry and tired from poor sleep at previous hotel stay, with no breakfast and some bad coffee! We went right in, we were greeted very soon and the server told us she’d clean a table right away for...us, which she did. We got our drinks and she was back quickly to take our orders. The food was very good. I had bbq’d pulled pork with a side salad and my husband had the burger. It’s pretty expensive for the food we got, but we both knew it’s more expensive up here. Most things are brought here by ferry which adds to the cost. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again. We try to eat keto even away from home-got our sandwiches without a bun and side salads. The pulled pork was pretty sweet, but very good.More

We wanted to go here for breakfast but unfortunately arrived just as the kitchen was switching over. Perhaps because of that, and that the place was packed, our service was a little bit slow. The food and drinks for lunch, though, were very good. It's...a little place, but it's quite good.More

My wife and I were walking down the street and decided to give them a try. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. My wife got the Reuben and I got the Mackinac Hot Chicken (recommendation from the waitress). My wife enjoyed her Reuben and...I enjoyed the Hot Chicken. It wasn’t unbearably hot and was cooked very well. I left satisfied. If we go back to Mackinac Island in the future, we’ll be sure to drop by again!More

We missed breakfast by about ten minutes while waiting in line which was a huge disappointment. We went here based on a Tripadvisor review so we missed the breakfast place literally next door. Wound up having lunch which was fine, we just had a taste...for breakfast, so the whole experience kind of missed the mark for us. The coffee is in dire need of improvement.More

One of our fave restaurants in the Island. Beautifully decorated with race horses theme- specifically portraying Seabiscuit's story. I had the best portobello mushroom sandwich I've ever tasted!

Recently my wife and I and another couple spent 4 days on the island. we received great food and service, until we stopped at Seabiscuit. Our server was poor, terrible attitude; when it was time for the bill she laid it on the ledge beside...us. I had been paying with a Visa gift card, which I gave to the server. She came back and told me there was not enough on the card to pay the bill plus a 20% tip. Incidentally there was a balance of over $150.00 on the card. When I asked about the balance she could have cared less; on our bill of $38.00 I gave her $3.00. My wife told me don't leave her anything. Wish I could give "credit" to the server but I have forgotten her name.More

Nothing is cheap on Mackinac Island and the Seabiscuit is no exception. The food is good and plentiful. We both had the White Fish version of fish and chips and it was very good. The atmosphere is good but loud. It is not very big.
