We had had a big lunch and I wanted something simple to take back to our beautiful inn and eat while sitting on the outdoor porch people watching and visiting. I ordered a lobster roll from this café thinking it couldn’t be much because it was only $25, but this was the bargain of the island! The sandwich was huge, stuffed with delicious lobster and it bypassed my expectations big time. I will get this each time I go to the island now!

The Seabiscuit has great food options you won't find at other restaurants in town. They serve a Lobster role with a very generous portion of Lobster. Also I had their special of the day which was a duck breast dinner with was one of the best meals I had on the island. And to finish it all off with key lime pie, I was in heaven.

The cafe was recommended by an island resident that we know. Lunch with family consisted of the delicious french onion soup along with the lobster roll, both were spot on tasty. My sister had a chicken salad that was a full plate we all shared. Location is convenient right down town would definitely recommend and repeat visit.

We were very happy to find this cafe, as our first two meals on the island were a disappointment. We enjoyed two hearty sandwiches served with chips for dinner at very good price. The atmosphere is great, wood and brick decor, nice bar as well. The food was well prepared, so much that we returned for dinner the next evening, and breakfast on our last day.

My wife & I stopped in to grab lunch and we were immediately met by the bartender, Rich, who made us feel welcome and offered 2 seats at the bar. Fun atmosphere, great selection of beers, lively conversation, and more importantly, delicious food.
We had the Whitefish Reuben and the Whitefish "Fish & Chips". Both were outstanding and we highly recommend visiting while on the island.

Stopped for lunch before going to Grand Hotel, ordered the fish and chips and the fish was delicious. Very light and not fishy. Cole slaw was good, fries were cold but fish was hot and tasty. Very crowded and took 30” to get a table

We had a great breakfast at Seabiscuit. Just steps from the ferry dock. Love the decor. Dark wood and lots of thoroughbred pictures. We had Eggs Benedict, eggs, potatoes, bacon, french toast, sausage, etc. Everyone gave their meals two thumbs up.

We liked this place so much that we went back for a second meal. First we went for breakfast. Rich was an absolute delight as our server. The food was delicious. My husband especially loved the eggs benedict. Then we returned for dinner with Alex as our waiter. Again, we had a nice meal with great service. You cannot go wrong stopping here for a meal, snack or drink while on Mackinac Island!

Small pub decorated with lots of horse accoutrements but food was really good and service excellent. Prices were on the higher end as we spent only slightly less than Pink Pony. Loved the shrimp and grits, very flavorful and perfect size for dinner. Wife had a salad with chicken which she really enjoyed and was filling but at $24 is high for a salad. Kids liked their cheeseburger meals and thought it was better than other burgers they recently had.

The food at Seabiscuit was wonderful. The lobster roll was large and tasty. French Onion soup was excellent and to finish our lunch we has Pumpkin Cheesecake, so good and large. The staff was outstanding and extremely friendly. I highly recommend the Seabiscuit.

Stopped here for lunch and sat at the bar with Autumn, the friendly Bartender. My Mom and I both had the whitefish chowder. It was perfectly balanced, great flavor, and good chunks of vegetables and fish. We then each had the Whitefish Reuben. One of the top sandwiches I have ever had! Well constructed, excellent fresh fish, tangy Cole slaw and thousand island, and melted Swiss on marbled rye. Truly, this is the best lunch on the island. Bravo!

Although we stayed at the Grand, we decided to try out some of the local restaurants downtown. Seabiscuit had the best Whitefish Chowder, with a nice smoky flavor. Moderate prices for the entrees, with modest proportions (this is a plus - who needs a supersized meal every time? It's not like we could take leftovers back to the hotel...) Service was friendly and efficient. Recommended.

The Seabiscuit Cafe is a great place to eat and relax while visiting Mackinac Island. My experience was very positive. It is conveniently located on Main Street. The food, service, and atmosphere are exceptional. The waiter I had was Nicholas and he went over and above in all aspects. He was friendly, polite, efficient, caring, and accurate. When you visit Seabiscuit, ask to be seated in Nicholas' section and you will see what I mean.

We stopped here based off of the glowing reviews and were disappointed that our experience was far from great. We dined here for lunch on a Monday and got a seat at the bar. We shared the nachos and mac and cheese balls and both were quite poor. Another woman seated at the bar had ordered the mac and cheese balls as well and I was concerned when I saw her push her plate away after hardly touching it, and it made sense once we received our order. They looked huge but on the inside was literally a spoonful of mac and cheese just caked in dry batter. They were incredibly dry and just plain inedible. The nachos weren't much better as it was basically a bowl of plain chips with a very small amount of meat and shredded cheese that looked like it had been microwaved. Maybe we hit it at an off time, or perhaps it's just the dishes we ordered, because the woman on the other side of us had fish and chips that looked amazing and I was jealous we hadn't ordered that. For our first meal on Mackinac it was very disappointing.

Whenever we are visiting Mackinac Island, one meal is eaten at our favorite place, the Seabiscuit Cafe'. We have always found the servers friendly, the food great, and the place extremely clean. We will continue to recommend the Seabiscuit to others and continue to support this great restaurant.
