We are a family of 7 with 5 kids. We stayed on the island for 4 nights. I did not want the hassle or cost of eating at a restaurant for every meal (we did n it have a kitchen where we stayed). Douds was a favorite of everyone. Pizza by the slice, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, wraps, many great salads, soup, fruit, plenty of drinks and even individual servings of lasagna or meatloaf to heat up in their microwave. We were all able to get out of their fully fed for $30-50 dollars a meal which is MUCH less than we would pay in a restaurant on the island. We enjoyed picnics with our food across the street in Marquette park. All of my kids were always satisfied by the variety.

A little bit of everything is here. We were part of a AAA motor coach tour for 3 days and purchased salads, sandwiches and other things during our stay. Prices were a tad high but understandable considering everything is brought in by boat. I learned of this place thru Trip Advisor.

We just arrived on the island and needed some provisions and Doud’s had great variety and reasonable prices considering we were on the island. Busy place that’s for sure. We just had to make sure we didn’t buy more than we could load on our bikes - lol.

While visiting the island you are presented with many options for getting a bite to eat. What a hidden gem this market was. They have sandwiches, fruit pizza, beverages and many healthy and grab n go snacks for you. We bought some water and a couple pizza slices and sat at a picnic table across the street.

Doud’s Market at the corner of Main and Fort Streets on Mackinac Island is a great asset to the island. Every year when we travel to Mackinac there is always something we need. You can find it at Douds. They have a fully stocked grocery, deli, many already prepared items for a quick picnic, and more! Of course being on an island, they have to pay more to bring stock from the mainland and that price is passed on to the customer but I don’t find it to be excessive. I have remarked many, many times that it is better stocked than our local big chain store at home.

After we checked in to our B&B and did a carriage tour, we headed here to pick up a few things for our first dinner to eat on the fabulous deck at our B&B overlooking a flower garden, and the horse drawn carriages clopping along in front of us and people watching.
We bought A bottle of wine for $18.00, now the same wine at a hotel we stayed at in Dearborn Michigan, cost the same just for our 2 🍷. We also got flatbread tuna sandwich’s , grape leaves and tabouli.
If we ever came back to Mackinac island again, we would buy snacks and deli food here for sure, ( on a 2 and a half week vacation in IL and Michigan and eating out at restaurants every night, this is a nice switch for sure.

A nice little general market on the island. I've read some reviews saying prices were too high. These people do not understand that when everything has to be shipped via ferry, including the refrigerator truck with fresh items - the prices go up. It cant be helped. The extra costs involved with getting items to the island and then to the store via wagon - it adds up. Be happy this store had breakfast ready when the restaurants are not yet open for the season, or that they had the sunblock, diapers or other sundries you forgot. We were able to find variety and unique items to suit our tastes. Thanks!

Great place to grab a sub or wrap made fresh. They also have hot food and pizza, chips and snacks as well as beer and wine. Take it next door to the park for a picnic in the shade. It’s much better than standing in line for a crowded overpriced restaurant. This was the best pet of our trip.

This is a great little market at the end of the main street on the island, right across from Marquette Park. It is the oldest continuously operated grocery store in the United States. They have a great selection of snacks and light meals. The restaurants on the island can get crowded at times. This store is a wonderful alternative. You can buy your food here and eat it in the park while admiring the lilac trees, the fort on the bluff overhead, and nearby Lake Huron.

Douds is conveniently located on the main street near the Bistors Center. They offer a wide variety of goods including packaged and fresh food as well as wine and spirits. They are open very long hours from early morning until 11 or 12pm. Staff is friendly and helpful. Since all goods are brought in from the mainland the prices are a bit higher.

We’ve been here before and today’s experience was no different in that Doud’s Market had everything we were looking for and the employees were super helpful. We typically have yogurt, soy Latte’s and Granola in the morning with fresh berries. Of course Doud’s had all that. We like fresh fruit at night and drink lots of bottled water. No problem Doud’s got you covered. We picked up a few other supplies and again, Yep they got that too. They always have a great selection and the prices are reasonable given the location and convenience. Highly recommend!

Doud's was convenient for little late night snacks or drinks. They were much cheaper than going to another restaurant. They also serve food (salads, sandwiches, etc.), but I haven't had anything from there.

This little corner grocery is a wonderful stop on the island. It’s as cute as the island itself. They offer a wide variety of things she if you stay on the island with a kitchen they can keep you well equipped. Also, they open early so you don’t have to wait for the coffee shops to open if you’re an early bird.

Conveniently located on Main St in the heart or Mackinac, this small but well stocked store has a very attractive, welcoming appearance. Staff is very friendly and helpful. While grocery shopping is not typically necessary on a Mackinac vacation, there was that hotel room refrigerator calling to be filled with beverages, and an early morning walk to Doud's for some antacid (don't ask). When on Mackinac in early September, the hours of operation were very generous from 7am until midnight. A jar of Doud's Apple Pecan Preserves caught my eye and came home with me; looking forward to serving at breakfast in the near future.

Great little market with everything you’d need. It’s located at the end of Main Street and was open until midnight when we were there (one of the few non bar places that’s open late). It was great for fruit, snacks and drinks but had anything else you’d need to pick up on a trip.
