Seems like many of the locals eat here. Was busy but was served quickly. The food was fine and the service rushed. Nothing really that extra. Maybe it is better for lunch. Don’t understand how this is rated #1 on the island.

Wanted to get a quick but good breakfast in b4 we started our day. This was the perfect place. Very tiny. They have maybe five 2 toppers... Then counter seating dor maybe 10? We arrived a little after 8 and had to wait outside for...about 5 minutes. By 8:40 there was a line outside so come early. It is a no frills establishment a one pager menu. I ordered eggs over medium, crisp bacon, toast and hash browns. Everything came out perfecting done. Hubbie ordered the corned beef plate and it was yummy - not overly salty. Service was very good and quick. Tips: 1. Come early! 2. Don't sit right next to the door of you can help it... Especially in cold October. 3. Come hungry!More

The Chuck Wagon restaurant is small, but big on a great breakfast. Our servers, Matt and Patty, were super pleasant/efficient and ensured we wanted for nothing. Watching the two men at the grill cook our meal was a real treat. Thanks!

Thank you! Matt and Patty are the best and the guys on the grill amaze me at how fast and efficiently they put out the food. I'm glad you had such a positive experience.

We stopped in for breakfast. Place was packed but we snagged the last table. It is tiny but has tables and counter. Best breakfast, just like at home. Food was quick and hot. No frills but it is spot on.

This is a locals eatery which opens at 7am. Most other breakfast places don't open until 8am. My husband and I had the stuffed French toast with fresh fruit and ate every bite! We splurged on calories as we were heading out for a morning...bike ride!More

We dropped in for a late lunch right off of the ferry. I had a great Bleu Cheese Burger and my spouse enjoyed her spicy Rattlesnake Burger (watch out-it bites). Both came with plentiful potato chips and pickle slices. The food was on the table...literally two minutes after ordering it; the fastest service ever. No Dr. Pepper. Would love to try their breakfast.More

Fast and friendly service with a plesant staff. They have the best cornedbeef hash on the island. Counter service makes for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Thank you! We roast our own beef, that's why it tastes so good.

I stayed on Mackinac for 3 days and ate here 3 times. I wish I could have tried more items on the menu. Probably the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Rattlesnake burger was fantastic. Fast, friendly service. Reasonable prices. Good music too. What more...could you want?More

Ate lunch here due to the high reviews on Trip Adviser. It’s a very small diner and the line was out the door. It was also very crowded once you were inside with people constantly standing right beside your table. The burgers were fine -...typical diner fare. Really not sure why this is the #1 rated restaurant on Mackinac Island.More

Use butter on the grill all day. Not on the burgers or buns but for sandwiches. Our grill is very small. So I'd have to say it would be hard to avoid dairy here.

Yes, they will gladly make anything from their menu to go. Many travelers bring coolers so that they can take them with them when they rent bikes and then take a picnic in the parks.
