Finding a small-town restaurant that maintains their same staffing over time can be difficult to find in the era of mega-chain restaurants. But the Old Hamlin is the exception. The staff are plenty busy, yet still attentive and friendly. The menu prices are still fairly...reasonable, and the food is prepared fresh. The restaurant has been in Ludington for a long time, so don't expect to find modern decor. Instead you'll enjoy viewing some fantastic art work on the walls, and if you think you've seen a tiny bathroom, you haven't seen one until you've been in theirs! The food is good, and the homemade bread is really good with breakfast. I opted for the thick raisin toast. I asked if it came with icing on it. It did not, but our waitress offered to bring some icing to make it ever better! WOW! Coffee was delivered with a carafe at the table. This restaurant can get quite busy during the summer tourist season, so plan your trip during off meal times and you'll be happy.More
