Read the reviews and had to eat here. Was a little disappointed in service and food. Took a long time to get food. Waitress explained they were short of help. I can understand that. Wanted meatloaf sandwich, they were out. Wanted a cinnamon roll- out....Waited for ale carte raisin bread until our check came. Might be good place but wasn't on our trip. Did I say it was Monday at noon?More

We had the small plates each of chicken and turkey. Both were huge, and came with lots of sides. The food was very good. Service was fast and friendly. This is more of an old style restaurant. We had take out dessert of cherry pie...and lemon meringue pie, and these were also excellent.More

We stopped here for breakfast before driving home. It reminded me of a good old fashion mom and pop place. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. She made sure to bring us freshly brewed coffee and a carafe of water. The food was hot...and plentiful. The French toast with homemade bread was wonderful. The pancakes fluffy and the omelettes large!More

I highly recommend the cinnamon raisin bread. It came with my skillet and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a quaint establishment and you can feel like you are dining in yesteryear.

We came here for lunch. It a small place in the center of town on the main drag. Breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I had a small hamburger and fries, my wife got the roast beef sandwich, both were good and good prices.

My husband and I went to Old Hamlin on our 30th Anniversary tour of places we went 30 years ago. This is a fantastic restaurant for authentic home style cooking. My husband chose a veggie omelet and home made raisin bread. I chose the senior...meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. Both meals were fantastic.More

Finding a small-town restaurant that maintains their same staffing over time can be difficult to find in the era of mega-chain restaurants. But the Old Hamlin is the exception. The staff are plenty busy, yet still attentive and friendly. The menu prices are still fairly...reasonable, and the food is prepared fresh. The restaurant has been in Ludington for a long time, so don't expect to find modern decor. Instead you'll enjoy viewing some fantastic art work on the walls, and if you think you've seen a tiny bathroom, you haven't seen one until you've been in theirs! The food is good, and the homemade bread is really good with breakfast. I opted for the thick raisin toast. I asked if it came with icing on it. It did not, but our waitress offered to bring some icing to make it ever better! WOW! Coffee was delivered with a carafe at the table. This restaurant can get quite busy during the summer tourist season, so plan your trip during off meal times and you'll be happy.More

Haven't been to Ludington in 30 years but I remembered the Old Hamlin Inn was a good place for a meal and IT STILL IS !! Stopped there an hour before it closed and still recieved excellent service and terrific food. I had the fish...sandwich combo w/ 1 trip salad bar. Husband ordered chicken monteray combo /1 trip salad bar. Salad bar with multiple variety of topping. So big that husband filled up on salad and had to get sandwich to go. So glad we stopped here.More

We chose the Old Hamlin because of the charm and historic feel outside. The menu was full of great offerings. The waitress assured us e bread was made that morning in house! Yum! I ordered a bottle wine, affordable, and after one glass they corked...it for me to take it back to my hotel. I also took a homemade dessert back for later and part of my huge club sandwich!More

This restaurant is an over priced dive. Very Dirty A salad bar full of old food, and dirty looking. The station that held the soup was horrible. No one in the restaurant was maintained it. The steak I had was flavorless and full of fat....My husbands chicken was over fried and dry. The mash potatoes were fake, and grainy. The only positive about this place was our waitress, and I am sure she is not payed enough. The Manager didn’t even have the nerve to come to our table to see what was wrong. My fault in all this, I should have turned around the moment I walk in the door.More

The location is in downtown Ludington. The food was fantastic all three times we ate there. It was so good we kept going back to try something new. The staff was very friendly and constantly checking on us. The restaurant was very clean and plenty...big to accommodate large groups of people. Try the homemade French toast! It’s amazing! We definitely recommend this family owned restaurant. This is a 5 + star place.More

We had the deluxe breakfast with eggs done exactly as ordered, the homemade raisin toast, bacon, sausage, blueberry pancakes and American fries. The food was prepared quickly and the table service was great.

We stopped by this restaurant while shopping in downtown Ludington. There were not a lot of choices for families so we went in. The restaurant is a little outdated but the food was fantastic! The staff was very polite, friendly, attentive and they all smiled...a lot. Everything was homemade and was so good that we are going back tomorrow for my birthday dinner and getting the prime rib! If you are around Ludington eating here is a must! You will not be disappointed for sure.More
