This is an old bar that has been around for a long time. We went to hear a band with friends (get there early if you want a table). The band was good and people where having fun. Very crowded and loud (but not overbearing loud). A little hard to get drinks. The wait staff was very hard working, so it was not there fault, could have used a couple more workers. If you are looking for music, dancing, etc. this is worth a check

I've danced at The Green Door, in years passed, but never ordered a meal. But when I saw an advertisement for 50% off burger night, I had to go. The first time I popped it, they canceled the special because it was the night before a holiday. So, I tried again the following week and I'm glad I did. Ali, my waitress who was nine months pregnant, pleasantly greeted me and handed me the menu the moment I walked in the door and sat down. I ordered an Olive Burger and a pop, and then settled down with a good book. Shortly thereafter, my meal arrived, and I could hardly believe my eyes as I scanned my evening meal. Lying on top of a toothy, buttered and grilled bun was my one third of a pound burger, slathered in green olive sauce, with a slice of romaine lettuce, tomato and red onion on the side. And then I spotted the pile of seasoned steak fries and a Kosher pickle spear artfully displayed around the rim of the plate. An extraordinary meal for the paultry price of $3.75! With juice running down my forearms, I downed that bad boy lickity split. And when Vanessa, their line cook, came out into the dinning area to check on my meal, I told her she really outdid herself. The only suggestion I could offer, to improve on your diner's overall experience, is to keep an eye on how long those burgers are sitting on the grill, because I ordered mine medium, and it arrived medium well. Overall, it was a good experience, and as Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, "I'll be back!"

Dropped by for a drink with friends and was charged $10 per person for cover, 15 min before last call at 1230 pm. When I asked for a bud light at cloaing as other customers were be being served shots I was turned down. Not a very fair or fun experience.

The Green Door is the best people watching spot in Lansing, hands down. As soon as the live band starts, an eclectic mixture of folks hit the dance floor, and the fun begins. Food is decent bar fare, drinks are priced ok.....the draw is the ever changing musical styles of the bands that they bring in. We always have a great time. It is not a palace, but it is comfortable. Check it out.

What a more appropriate place to spend Saint Patrick's Day. I had a great time here and loved the live music. It was fun atmosphere.

It's exactly what a local pub should be, comfortable, friendly and fun. Lots of different types of people gather for the bands, and the menu offers good food at good prices. There are fancier, newer places, but if you're looking for a cool place to hang out with friends and people watch, this is the spot.

So not the classiest place but definitely a step above a dive dive bar. Got there about midnight on a Thursday night (I had just flow in and my friend lives down the street) and there was a good amount of people there and the karaoke was in full effect. Good beer on tap, though I didn't like the berry beer, and the atmosphere was relaxed. They accept cash and cards, had great Karaoke DJs, and nice space for dancing. bathrooms were acceptable.

Stopped for a quick drink and stayed for nearly two hours. The music was over the top. Drinks can be a bit pricey...but with a minimal cover charge, worth the money.

For a dive bar that allegedly hosted U2 and helped venue to other cool bands, back in the day, it's forgetting this cool factor. It's "divey" but not in the good way. The whole place needs a good cleaning. We went early on a "Disco" themed night - and it became packed! We had decent hamburgers, good bar food, nothing exceptional. The bar was a bit of a let down as you had no menu and had to guess if they could make it...it may be better beer joint. It got so crowded the Hostess asked us if we would mind sharing our 4 top. We did - turned out to be drunk already, intermittently made out, ordered drinks, yelled everything they said, left to dance, then he left for a long time...they basically acted like Jr. High schoolers. We let the waitress know we were not with them, warned her and paid up as it was going downhill fast. They ended up running out on their bill... We haven't been back but I would if a good band was playing. There are not a lot of Live Music venues left.

Went in on a saturday night. It was quite busy and they had a live band playing. They were understaffed and drinks took a long time. I ordered nachos and my wife ordered a chicken sandwich. About 25 minutes later our food came out, my nachos overcooked and my wifes chicken sandwich was hardly cooked at all, the first bite was into raw chicken. Being Very upset, i let the manager know and we were given a $20 dollars in bar cash to use the next time we came. Things get a little undercooked, but raw is inexcusable. I will never eat here again and only recommend that IF you do go, stick to drinks ONLY.

I was both a LCC and MSU college student several years ago and I have just visited this bar for the first time. I have always thought of this place as a local dive that the younger crowd doesn't venture to, as there are not other bars around it. I met up some friends at 6pm on a Thursday night in December and it was dead. I was surprised at how large the inside was. We sat at a high top table and our waitress was very attentive and nice. I ordered a rum and coke (as they do not offer many craft beers if any) and it was cheap - $2 for a short. I'm not sure if they offer food as I did not see a menu at any point. Overall I'd say it was positive experience and I enjoy local places so I would return.

I went here on a Tuesday night, big venue, saw a really good show, D.J. Assault, everyone danced it was a good time, more than 50 people at the very end at 2 am when the lights went on. Staff should be a little cheerier, it would reflect on the bar overall. Also I met my cousin there who didn't feel they had been attended to well. Tips are all about customer service, so I could never understand why waitstaff would be anything but attentive.

The decor wasn't great, but the atmosphere and the staff were awesome. The best waitress there looks like she's 12, but she sure knows her drinks and how to please. All I had to tell her was that I wanted a sweet drink, or a fruity drink and she delivered easily. She could tell you anything you wanted know about most drinks. I don't recommend the Mount Nacho, the chips have really good flavor but they feel like they were stale and then fried. The burgers were phenomenal. I had the mushroom swiss and the flavor was THERE. Not many places can make a good burger, but this one does. The band we saw while there is called Still Rain, their female lead has a powerful voice. A talent agent needs to be there to hear her sing. I really enjoyed my visit to this establishment.
