My wife, sister- in - law & I pass by there once a year when we visit their grandparents graves. We had looked forward to eating there for a year. Boy were we all dissapointed. The dressing had a nasty aftertaste! It was topped by...a thin layer of turkey which tasted fine. That was topped w/ gravy which also was fine. The corn was canned not frozen, so inedible. The slaw was in a catsup size tub. I ordered the largest portion, wanting lots of turkey...didn't happen! We all agreed that we didn't need to ever go back. I just spoke w/ manager Austin by phone, told him all this and his response was "don't come back ! We have lots of customers" Well that's what puzzles me the most after eating their food and then getting his "too bad" attitude!More
We were delighted the Roost was open again for dining inside. We enjoy stopping here on our way home from up north. We always have soup and the senior plate. Plenty of food for lunch. Spouse loves the turkey noodle soup but I like the...boiled dinner soup. Senior plate includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry relish, coleslaw and a biscuit.More
still in high school ,we would stop to talk to Clayton about hunting and he always said if you boys can eat two of these dinners I'll pay,he never had to pay,at that time there were about 8 stools and a table or two,I still...go back often
,still fast, still good, never in all those years one complaintMore
Love the Turkey Roost and get so full but must make room for that wonderful Strawberry Shortcake. I always think about trying other items on the menu but for 40 plus years I have always ordered the Hot Turkey Sandwich all white. Why change now.
I have been going here for over 40 years. Started back in the 1970’s with my grandfather on our way to Hubbard Lake. The food is always great, great service at very reasonable price. Fast than most fast food place and it is a home...cooked meal. It is a MUST stop if you are in the area!More
My mom worked at Turkey Roost when she was growing up...but I have never been a fan...however, this time for lunch I got their roast beef sandwich - closer to a club...only wish would be for fries - but aside from that, good service -...as always - and a nice greasy spoon to know about near Bay City...More
