My family stopped in for lunch on our way home from Traverse City. The smoked brisket and fish dinners we had were delicious and big portions. Servers were very sweet especially the one how held and entertained a fussy young toddler for another family that was dining so they could enjoy their meals. I would recommend that you stop in... This is the second time we have been here. The food is good with portions that are just right. We had a brisket with caramelized onions & Swiss cheese sandwich..... Very good, au jus was good favor. Highly recommend, staff was attentive without being pushy....Kalkaska's best kept secret!

We didn't realize the restaurant closed at 3 on Sunday's and got there shortly before closing. They were very nice and encouraged us to stay. The food was excellent and we did not feel rushed at all. The pulled pork and Mac and cheese were awesome! I would highly recommend this restaurant. They went out of their way to make... More

My wife and I stopped in on our way home and I was pleasantly surprised by the offerings on the menu and more importantly the execution of it. We had the smoked trout spread appetizer, we'll be back If for nothing else then this, it's served with cherry jam, cheese, grilled pita and a slice of yeasty bread, I couldn't... More

So happy you enjoyed your dinner and our business in general. The Trout Plank is a great seller. We enjoy having items on our menu that are hard to come by in other establishments. We look forward to your return and I will pass on the great review to Charlie and our staff. More

We were traveling home from Traverse City and needed to grab lunch. We were pleasantly surprised with our choice! We were greeted with smiling faces and were quickly informed of the daily specials. The Brisket Philly, today's special, didn't disappoint! The thinly sliced brisket melted in your mouth. The Rainbow Trout was also amazing. It was breaded and cooked to... More

This is a small restaurant with great food and good service. The homemade chips are excellent. We often get the upnorth field greens salad and it is a very large serving. They serve Northwoods soda which is mad in northern Michigan. The shrimp is lightly breaded and large.

They have really stepped up their game in the last year or so! My favorite place to eat in town now! Brianna and Alexia are by far the best servers there! Awesome mac and cheese entrees! They smoke their own meats!! Just yummy

We were passing through Kalkaska at dinner time and decided to stop. The parking lot was packed so we figured the food was good. We were not disappointed! The food was really good and the service (Diana) was excellent. To top off our visit, because it was their anniversary, everything on the menu (including drinks & desserts) was half price!!... More
