It was freezing in there, not sure if the heat didn't work. They did have several space heaters going. They were attentive. Chips and salsa were tasty. We ordered the Mexican style tacos and enchiladas Rojas. The tacos were on point and what I am used to being from The border of Mexico in TX. The enchiladas were different. The... More

This is the place for people looking for a family-run homestyle food experience that bears no resemblance to Mexican-themed chain restaurants. Sure, it's not fancy or upscale in any way, but you get a generous plate of food that is freshly cooked and flavorful. My son & I enjoyed the tacos, and I particularly liked the creamy chile chicken. We... More

The food quality of this place is very average, nothing too special. Prices are very reasonable for a cheap-eat type of place. The atmosphere of this place is not very welcoming. This place is dirty and the waitresses are somewhat rude. Won't go there for some time

Best authentic Mexican food in the kalamazoo/portage area! Prices are very reasonable which is also nice. Only negative thing I would say is it is a little hole in the wall kind of place that seems pretty outdated and needs some maintenance. However, I wouldn't doubt if they relocate to a bigger restaurant soon due to the amount of customers... More

The furniture in this restaurant is so bright and inviting, it felt family owned, but I'm not positive. The waitress was friendly and knew what she was doing, I order jalapeños on my gordita, which came fresh with tasty chicken and a lot of rice. The mandarin soda is always a good find, too. I have been thinking of this... More

I have enjoyed meals here many times over the last few years and I will visit El Gallo Blanco again in the future. They have many choices on meat selection for tacos etc., or you could order with a vegetarian filler like cactus, or peppers. If you are really hungry there are entries on the menu that have you covered... More

The food is authentic and amazing. The staff is always courteous. I highly recommend. If you get the enchiladas, get the half portion (3), it's huge and will feed you well. I love the panela cheese tortas and the chorizo tacos Mexican style. MMmmmm.

The food is very refreshing. They use cilantro in a lot of their salsas and mixes, it makes it light and delicious! The service was not great. You get one bowl of chips and then they charge you for any additional chips and salsa. We do not have a liquor license. Great place for lunch

I would pop into this little hole in the wall on days when my craving for an elote (corn on the cob topped with cheese and chili pepper) could not be avoided! Also on any day I could make an excuse to spoil myself. :) PMS?-go to EGB. Bad day at work? - got to EGB. Want a taste of... More
