Good food and service... the shrimp tortalina is excellent and the crusted walleye is outstanding. On previous visits we've been pleased with the gluten free pizza, one of the best in Southwest Michigan.

We made a last minute decision on a Friday night to go to Fricano’s. I had gone to the original in Grand Haven 50 years ago. I was not disappointed. They were busy but not packed and we were promptly seated. Our waitress appeared immediately. We ordered bottle of wine from a fairly complete list of many varietals and not overly expensive. The brochettes were excellent and perfectly prepared. We ordered off the evening’s specials— a NY strip steak with blue cheese butter and the stuffed chicken parmigiana. The steak was large and cooked medium rare. It was very good as was the chicken parm. We will return. The country setting is very relaxing.

We decided to try Fricano's this past Saturday, the on line menu looked ok, and we liked the rural location. We ordered an appetizer, bruschetta, it was served on super burnt thin toast, and had a horrible tasting sauce on top. The menu was only for a few entrees and NOT the variety what was shown on line. Ordered a pizza, sausage and pepperoni, it was super thin and burnt, mostly pepperoni and a sprinkling of sausage. And, they use provolone cheese on pizza rather than mozzarella. It was horrible. They need to improve food quality, be clear on what ingredients use, and update the online menu so people understand exactly what is available.

Stopped in after babysitting grandkids. We are from out of town and thought we’d try a local place. Service was friendly. Minestrone soup was salty gravy like with some beans, did not detect any traditional vegetables.could not bring myself to finish it. Garden salad was a few pieces of romaine with a slice of tomato and onion and a few croutons. Balsamic “dressing” was a small plastic cup of balsamic vinegar. We had the chicken Parmesan which was sizable, if volume is what you are after. It was smothered with gobs of melted mozzarella, good if that is what pleases you. The sauce was tasty, a bit over sweet, and resembled the taste of spagettios in a can. The linguine on the side came with no sauce. We and nearby patrons requested sauce to be provided. Speaking of nearby patrons, there was no privacy and we were privvy to every word said. The wine was probably the lowest quality we’ve had, served in thick super sturdy faceted glasses. It would all have been a somewhat humorous field trip to a rural restaurant, except it came with a bill. Stay home...you can whip up something better and add some healthy vegetables for good nutrition.

After a week of craving a Fricano’s pizza I got my husband to make the 20 some mile drive so I could enjoy wine and my favorite pizza. WOW...this time I should have stayed home! Ordered the pizza off the menu...everything but onions and anchovies. What we got was a pizza with everything but anchovies...yes we not only got the onions but PINEAPPLE! What pineapple isn’t even on the menu...I totally dislike pineapple on a pizza! I picked off the onions and pineapple😕 They did not charge for my wine but really....if pineapple is a pizza item add it to the menu (as you can see from my photo new menus...no pineapple) so as customers we can say everything but pineapple, anchovies and onions and maybe next time it will once again be my favorite pizza 🍕 I have been coming to Fricanos since it opened as I once lived in Cooper and even now make it quite frequently to meet friends. Hopefully my next visit will renew my faith!

Our timing was great and we got right into our table. The wait staff was right there and very willing to offer information about the menu and take the ribbing that I usually provide. The pizza was excellent and the ribeye with asparagus was cooked to perfection. You must have the peanut butter pie to completely satiate your sweet tooth!

We had dinner here with a large family group after the celebration of life for a family member. The pizza was very good and the staff very friendly.

They always have a New York strip on the specials board. Highest price item on the specials board. I was very disappointed with the steak. Very gristly For a high-priced steak.

Made it all worthwhile for a bland offering. The waiter was new, and the comment "it's coming" after a 45 minute wait was not assuring. The lasagna was lackluster, with no distinct pizzazz. The pizza was sort of burnt, and wish they would take instructions from the one in Grand Haven - a far superior pizza. If it wasn't for the deck I'd probably search for better

My family enjoyed Caesar salads and individual pizzas. The salads were fresh with tasty dressing. My thin crust pizza with ham, mushrooms, onions and green peppers was very good. Our server was very attentive. Look forward to a second visit.

We recently visited this restaurant after an absence of several months. Unfortunately we found that things had changed and not for the better. My lasagna which has always been a favorite was less than half the size it used to be, the price however has continues to rise. There was almost no sausage or cheese, just a few noodles and very little tasteless sauce. My husbands spaghetti acceptable but not exceptional.

We have been going to Fricanos for years for great thin crust pizza and pasta dishes but they have added some amazing meat and fish dishes and specials to their menu. Pork shank osso buco over creamy mashed potatoes? Fish and Chips? What? Great casual spot and a local gem.

were back in Kalamazoo after moving away and had to go back to Fricano's, which is just as good as ever. having a tasty pizza and cold beer on the patio, with friendly service, while watching birds and deer at dusk is an unbeatable experience.

We are originally from Michigan and love lake perch. My sister recommended Fricano's. Who would have thought that we could find such great lake perch at a pizza house. Very pleasant surprise. The only draw back was house special soup. I Minestrone, I think that it was watered down. .
