The bar itself is very clean, very clean restrooms. The staff is very friendly as well as accomadating to any needs you might have! Great happy hour specials daily and decent food specials! There is parking available on the street or a very short walk...from a public parking lot. They even offer a small free food buffet on Fridays for patrons! I would recommend this place for sure.More
I LOVE coming to Harvey's. During the day, it's a great place for college students to work on assignments. On the weekends, it's a pretty lively place. They have great deals daily on food, and the drinks are very reasonably priced. Service is also very...good. I'd definitely recommend it!More
We went to Harvey's before a concert and walked up to the bar and had great service from 4:00-7:00 with Caitlyn. Drinks were very reasonably priced (happy hour until 6). We ordered bar food and it was very, very good bar food - pizza rolls...and nachos. It is a bar and as far as bars go the atmosphere was just fine. As business picked up closer to 7:00/7:15 there was a wait to be seated which was probably because of the 7:30 concert start time.
We did not see the college atmosphere referenced in other reviews but most of the people we talked to were headed to the concert - so it probably was not representative of a typical night. We would definitely go back.More
I used to work around the corner from this place and had not been in years. However, we had stopped by to check out what (if anything) had changed in that time. Not much.
This place seems to cater more so to the middle of...the day drinkers or college kids downtown. It is not a bad thing, but that just seems to be the norm. The service here has always been slow, and I see that has not changed. The floor place is interesting, and I believe on the weekend they still offer the occasional folksy singer and what not for the hippie crowd. It is a weekend and evening local favorite, so it can get busy. Plan accordingly.
The menu is All American Food for the most part, although the prices are from middle of the road to the higher end. I would say this place as "character" for those who do not like chains and prefer the hole in the wall bars with decent food.
While I would not be in a rush to come back, it is not a terrible place. Just something that is a change of pace in the downtown when hungry and in the neighborhood.More
A quick lunch with a co-worker on a random weekday was surprisingly delicious. My burger was the standard burger, and it's hard to explain why and how it was so good. The sear was perfect, the bun toasted perfectly, the onion ring topping was tender...and crispy, cheese melted perfectly... all ordinary things but somehow combined to be extremely tasty. Maybe the oil for the fries was perfect, brand new oil, maybe it's that way everyday, but the french fries were natural, tender inside, crispy outside and the flavor was outstanding.
Attentive, friendly, quick service. Definitely recommend this quirky but always cool Kalamazoo hangout. Mental note to get here more often.More
Went there on a Tuesday night and we sat ourselves. Took a couple of minutes to be waited on, but there was only one server. When we finally did, she was excellent. Ordered spicy bbq boneless wings which were good. Had those and 2 7...and 7's and 2 pints of cider boy's cider. Total came to $ 23. Which I thought was reasonable. Everything came out promptly, and service with a smile. Nice night to be on the outdoor deck!More
