This is a wonderful little place, not far from the I-94 freeway. There is a wine tasting room and a café, both very pleasant. The wine is pretty good – coming from folks who are fairly conversant with good wine. We enjoyed a terrific lunch of their charcuterie board: you can pick from among 27 ingredients to suit your tastes and appetite. Everything we sampled was fresh and delicious. Prices were extremely reasonable. The word “gem” is thrown around a lot, but this really is one.

The food was excellent, even watching everyone's plates coming out, everything was presented with care. I had the grand jam burger and the wife had the perch tacos excellent. It definitely was a local place because we got there at lunch and was packed. There tablet menus were very helpful and the service was spot on. If there dinners were anywhere near the lunch specials ,WOW. Definitely a must in Jackson.

Wine is good as are the sandwiches. This continues to be a nice outing for us: nice drive from Jackson, country winery, excellent lunch menu.

Went with a friend expecting to see some vinyards and have lunch. They did have some developing vines but told us they get a lot of their grapes from the west coast of Michigan which is more temporate. The wines I tasted were fairly good but I didn't wind up buying any because I thought they were overpriced.
I thought they would have a lunch menu but basically what they offer are finger food like cheeses, chunks of salami, bread slices, some fruit... This was a bit disappointing. Though the foods were interesting and good.
The wine tasting area is separate from the restaurant section. Servers in the winebar were helpful and pleasant. Service in the restaurant was o.k.
I'm not sure we'll go back there but wish them well. I believe they occasionally have music and a brunch.

We were headed to the mastodon highway - U.S. 12 - for a weekend drive with no destination in mind. We had visited a few estate sales in Lansing and were in town to catch the highway in Jackson when we consulted Trip Advisor and found this winery. It isn't a sit-down restaurant - you order at a counter and then tell them what table you will be at so they can deliver the food. We decided to share a Thanksgiving sandwich - turkey and brie on a cranberry bread. It was fantastic. We also had a cheese plate. They were in the midst of a menu change and their charcuterie plate of meats and cheese was not available. Neither of us tasted the wine because I don't drink wine and my lovely wife was driving. It is a quaint place, but not your typical vineyard/restaurant with table service.

The atmosphere here is second to none on a beautiful day! Sit outside, enjoy the wonderful views, and eat some fresh/ & local food. The staff has really high turnover for some reason - so there are always new employees. But the salads and soups are very good. The sandwiches are as well. Great place to stop for a relaxing lunch

The food at the cafe is outstanding and was an unexpected bonus to a nice wine tasting. The staff was friendly and informative about the wines that were on the tasting menu. Oh, the wine was pretty good as well.

My daughters and I did the Pioneer Wine Trail last weekend and had lunch on Day 2 at Sandhill Crane Vineyards. We had sandwiches which were delicious then did the wine tasting. Staff in both the cafe and wine tasting very helpful. A small wait for both but worth it. I highly recommend both the cafe and the wine.

We often stop by for a snack or lunch when driving along I-94 when the weather is nice. Outdoor seating is beautiful overlooking the vineyard. We don't even drink and we still find it worthwhile to go.

We visited here while staying in Jackson, Michigan. The winery is really nice and large. It was cold so we were not able to sit outside but believe it must be really nice to sit outside in warmer weather. We did a wine tasting at the bar and were pleased with the variety and quality of the wines we sampled. We sat next to someone who has been there before and suggested several of the wines that she liked...she was right - they were good. Although the white wines were very good, our favorites were the Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. From the Crane Café we enjoyed the Spreadable Sampler. They had just run out of the trout spread so we had extra bar cheese and hummus. The tray included veggies, crackers & baguette slices. Very good. I enjoyed the Not Just for Thanksgiving sandwich - turkey, cranberry sauce & brie Panini and my husband had the Homestyle Meatloaf sandwich - both were very good. We will return to Sandhill Crane Vineyards if we are in the area again.

Had some good Overture white along with my favorite Bree and apple sandwich at the closest place to European countryside we have around. Excellent food and good wine is a treat in this Jackson countryside winery. Enjoy!

Came for wine tasting, if we are in the area again we will probably go back. It was busy because of a dinner theatre going on but our service was still good! Great wine selection.

Fresh rustic Whole grain breads & locally sourced ingredients immediately set Sandhill apart from most area restaurants. I love the Jazz brunch Sundays & friends are often surprised that we have such quality so near. My young daughter loves to visit & dance when they have live music. The baked goods are also home made & delicious. The private events I've attended there always seem well organized. It's a hidden gem of our region!

Ok, they have food at the café but you'll pay for it and it's very basic. I felt the food was not a good value. I like the wines and the place is neat to sit at outside in the summer and drink wine. Small weddings would be nice here too.
