Stopped in after the bartender next door recommended. Three of us had the Honey Cream Ale outside in the beer garden. We were greeted warmly. Inside is a nice restored vintage warehouse. Great wood and brick decor. Beer was great. Out back was very relaxing....Wish we had more time to try the different beers. Loved this place.More

Great service, and a wide variety of offerings--from roasty to hoppy to shandy to jalapeno. This made for a great afternoon out in the beer garden. Comfy atmosphere!

We made a trek over to Ironwood from vacationing in Bayfield to hike the falls along the Black River, and stopping at Cold Iron was an intended bonus. It did not disappoint! Excellent beer!

What a great place to deal with the long winters and lots of snow in this area! This friendly brewery has lots of space for games and interacting. Televisions are also present for sports or event watching. Large communal tables as well as small cozy...ones round out this place. Carry in food allowed. Soda options for non-beer drinkers. The beer was very good, and we were welcomed warmly. The inside is beautiful; the unique ceiling beams were found only after removal of an old suspended ceiling from the previous office space. Definitely a way to celebrate the inside season!More

The beer at Cold Iron is fantastic, to start! The Wee Heavy Scotch Ale, and the Drift North IPA especially. It is the atmosphere and environment that stands out, though, too. People here enjoy a game of ping pong, shuffleboard, pool, cribbage, or just enjoy...a conversation. Catch up on snow conditions, where to kayak, where the farmers market is, or where to eat, all in a laid back scene. Couches and coffee tables feel like a local living room to the culture and recreation headquarters of Ironwood!More

I own a UP north place in Ironwood and always make this a stop. Great selection of beers and always something new to try too. Lots of games, shuffleboard, bags, foosball, a few TVs but generally a great place for friends and conversation.

Enjoyed a pint of amber ale and some free popcorn, huge urban vibe, we needed food so didn’t stay long. $8 for 2 pints and it was very good. For being so spacious not filled up with much furniture, seating, surprised they didn’t at least...have some big pretzels or focaccia, have seen that at other brew pubs. I get the feeling it’s fairly new so that may come. A little hard to fine but google maps helped. Folks sitting outside looked pretty unkempt and loaded on a nice Sunday afternoon, the area of town may be a little rough, not sure how it would be there at night.More

This place came recommended, so I decided to visit it during my drive to Cable, WI. The IPA was so good I bought some to go. The ale was also quite tasty. But what was most remarkable was the conversation! This was one of the...best conversation I ever had in a bar! It was especially touching since it was on the 75 of the D-Day anniversary and everyone in attendance recognized the contributions and sacrifices of the greatest generation. This place comes highly recommended.More

We made an impromptu stop on a late weekday afternoon jaunt and found a gem. Our beer was delicious - my IPA one of the best I’ve ever tried. It had a nice hops bite that didn’t overpower flavor. The building is fun - definitely...spacious - and the bartender was genuinely interesting too.More

Nice. When you’re touring the U.P. Don’t forget a stop at Cold Iron. Tasty beer, nice people, fun taproom. Also the RedBull 400 climb up copper peak event will have the after party at the taproom May 11 2019. See you then...

This place is a locally owned venture into the microbrewery world. Its in the rustic Northwoods of the UP, but it could just as well fit in any trendy modern city. They hit a home run with it, amazing place. The local brew is terrific,...lots of variety. The location is big but cozy. It has the feel of an inverted viking ship with beautiful wood craftsmanship. Service is friendly and prompt, and they don't let your glass get too low. We were there on a Saturday, with carolers singing holiday songs. Great place for a date, with friends, after a long ski, and welcoming to everybody. Tip: they don't serve food here, but I think you can carry in (better call and check with them first). Cool thing is there are families with kids too, but I thought it was great... gave it a neighborhood gathering kinduva feel. Bottomline: 10 out of 10. So good we got a growler. Kudos to the owners and staff.More
