Cool themed restaurant / brewery located right on main street in Houghton. The food was nothing spectacular, but good. They only had a few of their beers on tap, but they were all decent. Our waitress was great. Recommended.

Incredibly slow service. Excuse was that 3 waiters had left and the cooker was new, I believed it until I saw a comment in Tripadvisor dated in 10 months ago with the same feedback. The worse thing was that after apologising for the delay she...asked us if we wanted more drinks. We thought they were complimentary for the 1,5 hours waiting, but they were not. Regarding food, they have 2 menus. For dinner forget burgers. Food, ok, but very expensive: fettucini Alfredo with chicken: 24$ plus tax. After 2 hours for just pasta we left very disappointed.More

If you try nothing else, please try the soup. It's a creamy cheesy version of an onion soup with fried rye bread croutons. Lore claims the chef created this in the late 1960s/70s and, to this day, refuses to share the ingredients. Rich, flavorful with...large pieces of onion.. I tossed my plant based notions to the side and devoured a cup. Since I had compromised my principles, I had a lovely mushroom pizza with green beans for dinner..no judgements please. Beans were perfectly prepared before being added to pizza. Husband enjoyed white fish with rice and green beans plus soup. We left feeling satisfied and carried away a piece of chocolate mousse cake for his bedtime snack. Prices were about average for 2023 craziness. Staff overworked, and they didn't clear the table of empty dishes..can't comment on the alcohol since we didn't imbibe. Would go back for soup, only 1 type available, if opportunity presents.More

Our nearby hotel recommended this restaurant when I asked where I’d get a good burger. Perhaps I should have asked for an above average burger since the food was very average yet high priced. The burgers were only 1/3 pounders yet over $15. Add ons...we’re somewhat reasonably priced it despite dressing it up, it was a grilled thin patty with lots of lettuce and tomato and some cheese. The chips were too greasy for my taste. My friends burger also underwhelmed him but the truffle fries were mostly Parmesan cheese with little if any truffle taste. Servers were pleasant but this was a relatively expensive average burger.More

As a librarian I absolutely loved the name so we of course had to stop in. The beer was delicious and the food even better. The proportions were amazing, I couldn’t even finish 1/2 of my truffle fries that came with my burger. The theme...is so cool for the Librarian in me. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be back if in Houghton again.More

We waited forever for the waitress to take our order and then waited longer for our food. It was not busy. The order was incorrect when it arrived. When I mentioned it was not as ordered the waitress seemed perturbed. The food was poor quality...for price charged. We will not go back. This used to be a favorite place, but that was decades ago. Things have changed…for the worst.More

This restaurant has a nice view of the hill overlooking Houghton and the riverfront. The pizza was tasty and had a nice crispy crust. The craft beer was also good. And good service.

We visited this restaurant twice while in Houghton, once for a late night drink and snack and the next day for an early dinner. Our first visit we had a young man as our server who was friendly and had good beer suggestions. Their current...tap list was good and they had a nice blueberry beer. Their Parmesan Artichoke dip was phenomenal. The next day we had a blueberry mule, also good, as well as a burger and shrimp po boy with their homemade chips (onion rings are not homemade). Chips were good. The poboy was not bad, but very skimpy on shrimp. There were maybe 5 medium sized shrimp on a it. My husband said his burger was ok, not the best, not the worst. If we come back we would stick with the Parmesan Artichoke Dip or try something new.More

Great drinks. Extremely slow service on food. Salad good. Kabobs very overcooked. Reuben was ok but nothing special.

I enjoyed three meals here, though the lack of staff created some difficulties. The few staff who were present were great, as was the chef. I enjoyed a whitefish dinner prepared well. I ate at the comfortable bar. I noted the brewery equipment in the...adjacent restaurant area.More

On our road trip, we like to stop at unique places. The Library Restaurant fit that bill.. what a great atmosphere which I understand the college kids use as an excuse to be out - saying they are at the library. Great food and drinks.

Took my Wife there because it looks super nice, and a good menu. Super poor service, waited so long for the appetizers and drink refills, told the waitress to just cancel our diner order and we were going to leave. She came back and said...the whole order was done. So she brought out the appetizers with our diner all at once. Everything was COLD, must have been sitting back there for awhile! Every worker seemed to be a kid, who really didn't care about anything, no adult seen in the place working, such as a owner or manager. Payed a lot money for a terrible meal, and even worse a terrible experience that ruins your night. Save your money and go to Joeys seafood, went there and was Fabulous. And more so the service was Top Notch.More

This is one of the only sit-down restaurants open after 8:00 in the area. So we went there not because of reputation but because it was open. As is the norm these days, they didn’t have enough staff so we waited several minutes for someone...to notice and seat us. But once seated, the service was good. Our table was near the wall of windows that look over the water. The food was pretty good, not great. I had shrimp tacos…the flour shells were toasted but still pliable, cabbage was crisp but each one had only two shrimp in it. Nice size and tasty but hard to get a shrimp in every bite. My husband got a Rueben but it was served on white bread instead of the rye as listed on the menu. The “au graten” soup was tasty in a mild way but missing the “homemade croutons” . But Overall a decent meal, interesting atmosphere and great I’d service….and at least it was open past 8:00 pm!!More

Nothing really special about this place but it is not a bad spot to stop. There was live entertainment while we were there. Service was a bit slow, but they were understaffed.

We had excellent food and very, very good service. Nataly was great, she was very attentive and was able to answer all my questions about the menu. Had a nice window table with great view of the water.
