We make the trek to Hamtramck periodically to stock up on the "chunky"smoked kielbasa. This lean and flavor packed sausage of pork and veal is, well, the best! I have yet to find any kielbasa closer to home as good. This is the real deal and very reasonably priced. It freezes well and is great hot or cold (for snacking). The home made pierogies are wonderful too and they have quite a variety! Enough said! This is making me hungry.

Even though it was during lock down they had a great variety of foods. Spent a lotn but have good food for dinner. Just for correction it is a market not a restaurant. One thing I did not like about the pierogies was they seemed to be piped in and more like pureed than chunks.

My first step into Srodeks brought me back to childhood because of the outstanding atmosphere ,the fragrances ,the best ever service and of course the excellent quality of Polish food varieties of sausage , pierogies, and soups . I must have the smoked veal and pork kielbasa sausage because I grew up with that marvelous taste at home in Brooklyn , N.Y. Now living in Vero Beach I order my favorites to be mailed and now its time to get the wonderful Srodeks food for my Christmas present ...Srodeks polish deli .....can't wait !!!

Srodek’s Sterling Heights Location- NOTE: Use caution: Expired items on shelf and in refrigerators. At times the store smells like sewer. A customer can spend a lot of money at a store however “management” complains and berates (scold or criticize (someone) angrily.), about using one (1) extra plastic bag. The store should invest in using quality deli bags. The little girl who may be manager gives Srodek a bad name. The “manager” needs better customer service skills or this store will lose business.

Our family tradition for Christmas is to have fresh Polish sausage, potato pancakes and perogies for breakfast. We drive 1 1/2 hours just to buy from Srodek's. Their food is fantastic, fresh and full of spices and not bland by any means. We have been doing this trip for over 40 years!

We drive for Srodek's! The best Polish specialty market around, they are our go-to place for Polish sausage and pierogi for our family holidays! The pierogi selections are awesome as they have far beyond the standard potato, sauerkraut, and cheese pierogi offering (at times) such flavors as Coney, Philly Cheesesteak, Pulled Pork, and Sweet Potato. Outside the store, they are a staple at Detroit City FC matches at nearby Keyworth Stadium where there is a pierogi of the day and up to 4 Kielbasa offerings, sauerkraut optional. Taste treat!!

Shipped pierogies and potato pancakes out of state. Received in 2 days. They look great. So many creative flavors. Just wish their system generated auto-kickback email showing order confirmation. I had to call to make sure the order was received. Same when I purchased a gift card.

I had pierogi's and fresh kielbasa shipped to Colorado. The best I've ever had since my mom passed away. I'll be a regular customer!

Srodek's is a family-owned and -operated Polish market in the immigrant community of Hamtramck. My brother and I stayed in Hamtramck this past weekend and stopped in at Srodek's for some souvenirs from our trip. Since we were flying, we grabbed some Polish hunter's sausage as a treat (the cities where we live don't have large Polish populations or Polish markets)! Delicious (I got spicy and regular)! The rest of the market was great, too. If lived in Detroit, I'd be a regular. If I had driven to Detroit, I would have filled my car with things to cook with and try when I got home. Alas, all I could take on this trip were the sausages. But the store is great. The customer service is wonderful. And the store is well worth a visit whether you love Eastern European food already or want to learn more about it! (FYI: TSA didn't open my bag despite having a couple hunter's sausages from Srodek's in my carry-on bag, but my bag does smell like sausage now.)

If you want the REAL stuff - like Gramma made - go to Srodek's in Hamtramck. It's a tiny old wood frame grocer which has a terrific selection of goods you CAN'T get at Kroger - but they are originals from "the old country." The meat selection is unbelievable. The kielbasa is homemade and you can practically taste it from the amount of garlic and spices in it. The counter help will address you either in English or Polish and they are very busy all the time. A new and improved Srodeks was supposed to open in Warren last summer - but the building remains closed. Don't miss this as a real taste of Poland - and visit Polonia for some really authentic cooking afterwards.
