My sister and brother-in-law came in from Florida to attend my wedding. Both wanted to go for real Polish food. We told them we knew just the place to go, Polish village. As in the past, Polish village has taken good care of my friends and family. The Dillpickle soup is just like my grandmother used to make. The city... More

I went last Thursday, after a long gap, for the goulash special then. Had been up north recently to a famous Polish tourist place above Harbor Springs, and the goulash there was $19. So I thought I would go again to this Hamtramck spot for goulash. Out the door meal goulash, and also sliced cucumber salad in cream sauce was... More

This place is the hidden gem of perogies and city chicken. Try the dill pickle soup and order a "okay" beer in the huge bowl it's so good!

This is a small restaurant in the heart of Hamtramck! If you were raised on "old country food" this will take you back! Polish Village is in the name and found on the plate

The food here is amazing. It is great anytime of year but as the weather cools and you are looking for some great comfort food do not go any further. This is outstanding Polish comfort food. If you haven't tried Dill Pickle Soup it is a must! I know it sounds a bit different but it is great. The waitresses... More

This place is WONDERFUL - very old school atmosphere - Growing up Polish and in a polish section of town from NJ I felt like I was back home. Lots of locals here eating some great authentic polish food - I had the Polish Dinner which was a stuffed cabbage, peroigi, sauerkraut, Kielbasa, and mashed potatoes with gravy - FANTASTIC!... More

I came here for lunch after a Pure Detroit Fisher Building Tour. I was promptly seated. My waitress had a sour attitude. I ordered the Polish plate with dill pickle soup and potato pancake instead of mashed potatoes. The dill pickle soup was decent. The Polish plate was interesting and not bad. The sausage, cabbage & sauerkraut were decent while... More

Waited a while, but it is a small place. Well worth the what. Food style is similar to my Aunt's cooking. Not quit my mom's, but good Homemade Polish cooking!

Great service, lots of good home cooking choices, good beer choices, house red wine nice, dill pickle soup wonderful. The only thing I didn't like was the perch. It was cold, greasy, and very leathery. Didn't have any taste and certainly didn't taste like perch which I love to eat. I liked all of the other choices. Prices are modest.
