As I walked down the stairs I wondered how a restaurant could survive such dirty steps but by the end of the meal I wondered how this restaurant wasn't listed as a historical treasure. This place is absolutely amazing. When you open the door and walk through you enter into a different world with unfamiliar sounds, interesting smells and a... More

Fantastic food, great pieces and portions. Try the polish platter with dill pickle soup! The stuffed cabbage is amazing!

We generally stop here whenever we come to Detroit. The food is quite good and prices are fair. This is a cute little place in the lower level of the building with traditional Polish cooking reminding me of the food we had when we were kids. I had beet soup and the goulash with noodles. The food was great and... More

I have ate many times over the last 20 year's at Polish Village, many good memories, my last carry out was not very good, and today, my meal was not very good at all. Had City Chicken, thought it was from last week, dry as can be, and tuff. Not the old melt in your mouth I remembered, not even... More

Good Polish food, probably the best you can get in a restaurant. Polish Village is long on food, short on decor. I think the food is almost as good (not quite, though) as that cooked by my Polish and Ukrainian grandmothers (may they RIP). This is the place to bring out-of -town guests who enjoy eating. No pretense here, just... More

We visited this place totally based on the reviews from Trip Advisor. Not disappointed and is recommended very much. Eat lunch and allow a couple hours for a nap afterward. The Polish plate is an assortment of pirogi, kielbasi, and staffed cabbage with kraut and mashed potato. It was $10.95...a bargain. we also had a side of potato pancakes which... More

A definite Must go to restaurant! The Polish Café is ALWAYS one of the restaurants I MUST visit each time I am back home in Michigan. It brings back so many wonderful memories of Polish cuisine when I was younger. :) I would rate this a 10! Yummy especially the Dill Pickle Soup! Can't wait to go back...

Got in a little late, sat at the bar. Wonderful selection of Eastern European liquors and beers. Food was very good. Ordered "city chicken" , actually pork and veal on a wooden skewer. The plate, when it arrived, was overflowing. Wonderful tastes and aromas. Meal comes with soup, mmmmm.

My wife and I visited Detroit and were told to stop here by my parents. The restaurant is in the basement of an old house. The food and atmosphere are great. I got the Polish Plate the only thing I would change with my meal is add another pierogi. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly.
