If are looking for good old fashioned Polish food, this is the place. During lunch and dinner time, expect it to be busy, so have a beer or glass of wine: the wait will be worth it.

We went for lunch yesterday. We both had pierogis and liked them. They had a decent variety to order from. The dough was tasty and the fillings were generous. You can tell these are home made and so much better than any you can find in a store. I also had kielbasa, which was yummy. The restaurant is small, but... More

We have had lunch and dinner at the polish village cafe and each time it was excellent. The food is authentic polish food that tastes like an honest to goodness home cooked meal. The atmosphere is a perfect compliment to the food. We will be back!

I had lived in Detroit most of my live till 2006 and was ashamed, having grown up just 5 miles from Hamtramck on the eastside, that I never knew of this place. BOY am I glad I found it, even now. PURE POLISH HEAVEN! WONDERFUL little "hole in the wall" in the basement of an old hotel, this place just... More

If you love eastern European cuisine then this place is a must. Cabbage Rolls, Pierogies, Potato Pancakes and the list goes on. Take my Hungarian/German word for it, check this place out.

You haven't been to Hamtramck until you've eaten here. It's live, and in a world of faux-artisan "authentic" places that look just like all the other authentic places, this is the real deal. You don't come here to order a cheeseburger, or a Tofu salad. Be prepared for Czernina soup (sorry, I'm not going to tell you what that means...and... More

Many's the time I've indulged in the delights found at this Polish pierogi palace, and my latest visit did not disappoint. The super-smart owner, who seems to have inherited the place from her parents, has done much to keep the quality up and the traditions alive, while casting an eye towards some innovation - some vegetarian soups and jalapeño and... We came here on a Sunday afternoon, and it was already packed. We managed to get a couple of seats at the bar. We shared the cabbage roll dinner, with an extra soup. I had the dill pickle soup. It was okay, but not enough dill. The cabbage rolls are okay....The sauce was too sweet. The green beans seemed like... More

Decorated for Christmas, Polish Village Cafe was so festive. We loved the trio of musicians roaming from table to table. The waitress was mediocre but didn't bring down our visit. The food was, well, polish food. Served almost hot. I liked the stuffed cabbage but it was not exactly a culinary adventure. The kielbasa appetizer was tasty but honestly not... More
