Been going to this restaurant for many years and quality had been down for the last couple years but is now excellent again. Food and services are top notch. Would highly recommend either upstairs or downstairs for mexican
This place still has a salad bar and we love it. The steaks and chicken here are also very good. We always get the salad bar but then have to take our steak or chicken home. They make the salads fresh everyday.
This has always been a place my family and I have loved eating but not anymore, sadly. I’ve had gastric surgery to make my life healthier and happier and I rarely eat out to help with this. I asked to order off the kids menu...and had my card ready and was told that the owners have chosen to not allow this. I asked to order a smaller portion of food and was also denied. The server then said the enchiladas are the same size as the kids meal, but of course more expensive...how convenient. So I am sitting here, watching my family eat while I have nothing in front of me. And some may think “well just bring the left overs home” but that would be a waste for me since I try not to eat food like this at home. To me they’re just being greedy. They don’t even give you fries if you order a burger 🍔 🤦🏼♀️they nickel and dime you for everything. Save your money and go else where.More
Good atmosphere, good service, excellent food, a well-stocked salad bar, which is a rarity nowadays, reasonable prices. Checks all the boxes. This place is always busy, especially on weekends, and for good reason. Got there much after 5:30, and you'll be in for a wait....One of the oldest, and still most popular restaurants in the area. Even Chef Ramsey would approve of the quality of the service and food!More
First time dining at The Dungeon. The manager was visible in the dining room, actually working, and Derrick was amazing. Very nice young man, taking great care of all of his guests. Transitions in and out of his table very well and always with a...smile on his face. Refills were abundant. The food was great but we will return because of the teams efforts. Hats off Team Dungeon!!!More
Go for the burritos. They’re outstanding. Kind of dingy feeling and not a great atmosphere, but the service is good. I’ve tried other things on the menu and they were fine, but the burritos are winners.
We just happened to come across this restaurant while in the area and decided to stop. It’s a great place where the locals come. The hostess was very nice and our waitress was great! The food was very good. The place was a bit dated...but clean and the bathroom was spotless! I would recommend this place to anyone passing through Grandville or Grand RapidsMore
We ate at the DUNGEON at Grand Villa Restaurants. We ordered Mexican. The Margarita was not homemade. Tasted like it was a pre-made mix (extremely sweet not at all refreshing nothing to suggest fresh lime juice). We had the cheese enchilladas. They were passable but...the side of beans were right out of a can with no attempt to doctor them up to make them look or taste good. Dry as a bone and cardboard-like tasting. Rice was just plain wierd. Nothing like Spanish or Mexican rice. This place has been here for several decades, what a shame the food is this poor.More
I was shocked to discover how terrible the food is here. There’s nothing particularly awful about it like being under or over cooked or anything. The chips were thicker than most and more along the lines of tasting stale. You get two salsas; one sweet...and one hot and both were very odd/unique flavors. I’ve never disliked a salsa at a Mexican restaurant before but I highly disliked both of these. The sweeter one tasted to me exactly like tomato juice you’d drink from the can. Between my husband and I we didn’t even finish half of each salsa or half of the basket of chips. We both ordered wet burritos. They were very large in size. My husband ordered the shredded chicken and I ordered the ground beef. We were both highly disappointed in both. The sauce on the burrito and the cheese on top was good but that’s it. My husband hated the lettuce being inside the burrito and made it so he couldn’t take his leftovers home and reheat if he wanted to. We had heard this is a very popular restaurant and were blown away how terrible the food was. Our server was fantastic and that’s hard to come by but everything else left a lot to be desired.More
