This was my 2nd time here. We had el molcajete. My partner and I often split these wherever we go. It is a super hot molten rock bowl with various meats, cheese, and some veggies like cactus and onions. This one had a nice salsa...on the bottom and beans on the side. I really liked that it was like this. A couple of time at other restaurants the beans drown the bottom of the bowl and it was more like a soup. This gets served with corn or flour tortillas. Traditionally it is corn which is what we prefer. They ran out of horchata so I had water. At the end of our meal we were very full and didn’t even finish our meal. We will be back. It was a good meal.More

I love their salsa and chips. They will customize my order of tamales - with special cheese topping. Great staff and very friendly. A favorite restaurant of mine.

We love Mexican food and we’re looking forward to trying this place based on a family member’s recommendation. Our first impression was not a great one when we saw that the chips and salsa were not complimentary. The chips were okay but the salsa was...very good. There were four of us ordering and our food came out at different times. Mine was served first and I waited until everyone else was served so mine was cold by the time I started eating. The food was okay but they also got our order wrong and served my wife crunchy tacos instead of the soft that she ordered. All in all we wouldn’t make this a return visit.More

We are driving through Michigan from Texas. We eat a lot of Mexican food. This is very good Mexican food. It was very busy, but the service was quick. We had cheese enchiladas, taco salad, the taco plate, and a tamale. It was all excellent....We all said we would return if we lived in the area. We were able to get refills on our drinks to go. Extra points for super clean bathroom.More

Had lunch with my lovely bribe. She had chicken fajitas which were very good. We share. I had the dinner burrito with beef retried beans, rice, lettuce , avocado, and sour cream. It was excellent.

I had lunch with my daughter today at El Granjero and thought it was the friendliest place I'd been to for a long time. The service was fast and very friendly. Chips and salsa arrived with a couple of Jarritos pops. My daughter had a...vegetarian burrito and I had a combination platter. All of it was delicious. Probably about 15 tables. Lots of take out orders (that's what I usually do). Plenty of free parking. On Bridge Street about a mile west of downtown.More

We placed a take out order and they were fast, but mostly delicious! We ordered the large steak quesadilla as well as a large chicken quesadilla. In and out in a breeze. This is not your Ameri-Mex run of the mill restaurant. This is definitely...Mexican fare. Give it a try!More

Today was a good day to try a new Authentic Mexican restaurant!!! It doesn’t look like much on the outside or when you first walk in but as for the flavors, very good!! Being a cook and from a Central American country I look for...the most Authentic I can find. This was perfect! I ordered super flautas beef with sides of beans and rice, a al cart taco al pastor (marinated pork in pineapple) and a virgin coladas. The Coladas brought me back to when I was a kid. It was very creamy and smooth. The al pastor taco was so tasty and the meat was tender. The Flautas were covered with mild green salsa, lettuce, queso fresco and sour cream. I added some salsa verde for a little more flavor. The beans and rice that came with it were very Authentic too. A very good restaurant to try if your looking for more authentic Mexican food.More

I asked some of my Mexican employee's where they go for Mexican food. They all agreed El Granjero was the best. I would strongly agree. If you are looking for that "hole in the wall" authentic mexican restaurant, this is the place. Absolutely no frills,...just clean, delicious Mexican food! Some of the meatiest tamale's I have ever had!More

When you go to a Mexican restaurant and feel it would help to speak Spanish (which of course you don’t have to), you know it should be good. The food is top notch, and service was great. Menu offers a good variety not found in...other places. Prices are very affordable. Dining room is nothing fancy, but you don’t come here for glitz and glamor.More

Service was friendly , food was on bland side. First time I had been to a Mexican Restaurant that they charged for salsa & chips. We had a Groupon and its the only reason we had gone here.

Don't go Mexican if the place isn't Mexican. This one is and the food testifies well to it. We were in the neighborhood tonight and came across this restaurant and for sure will return--with family and friends
