After trying Ju sushi and the sushi bar at the downtown market, our standards for sushi had gone up. I guess I expected more from this place after reading the wonderful reviews, but once I walked in, it is another story. First of all, everything look dated and no one was dining on a Friday evening at 6:30pm, a little... More

This place is amazing. The sushi is prepared as you wait. We had about 6 different types. We also had tempura shrimp. The best I've had in awhile. Go out of your way to try this place.

In Grand Rapids the food scene is relatively young, at least compared to larger cities; therefore, good sushi is hard to find, and great sushi is even harder. Mikado sushi is the only sushi in Grand Rapids that I would consider great. Their sushi, sashimi, and nigiri is much more traditional than other options in the area, and it is... More

I've been eating at Mikado for years and I have ate sushi in high rated New York sushi restaurants. I can honestly say that Mikado is the only sushi restaurant in GR that is comparable to what is available in the big cities -- and it is much, much cheaper than big city sushi. The service could definitely be better... More

This was my first visit. The special Mexican roll was awesome along with all the others. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is hungry for good sushi. Very friendly wait staff and very accommodating.

This restaurant was right next to the Homewood Suites that I was staying in. I found their sushi to be fresh and very well prepared. The prices were also outstanding. Don't miss this place.

I read the reviews for sushi near my hotel and decided to try this one. Service was friendly, prompt, and courteous. The sashimi was fresh, tender, and tasty. The selection of sake was limited, but good. I'll certainly be back when I'm in town.

I've eaten here several times and find the sushi average. The staff is pleasant. Teriyaki is pretty plain.

...than it needs to be. I think they get away w/ higher prices because of their handy location on 28th. Certainly worth a visit if you don't mind paying more than you need to.

Friendly but distant staff were very slow to refill tea even though the restaurant was very slow; employees were just standing around looking bored. I had California rolls, friends had more exotic sushi and they complained about the quality. My bento box (which came with the ca rolls) was just okay and a little bland; tempura was rubbery and undercooked.... More
