My wife & I were visiting GR after Christmas, and The Green Well was in the list of recommended dining spots from our B&B hosts. The GW vibe is very laid back, with friendly wait staff and casual attractive furnishings. Their menu offers a variety of unique items - tasty spins on familiar dishes - and serving sizes are generous. We enjoyed our first lunches (half Monte Cristo sandwich with soup du jour, half warm spinach salad with soup) and our low-key dining experience, so we decided to return the next day and were equally pleased (loaded mac & cheese, half Cuban sandwich with spinach salad). We would both recommend The Green Well for a satisfying meal in friendly surroundings.

I believe this is part of the group with Bistro Bella Vita Downtown and as with " Bistro" the food is always really good, and not just the same boring stuff and the staff is always warm and friendly but still very professional. I don't know whether they, as so many others have done during COVID times, cut back on their hours but if they are open on Saturday afternoons these days I can't imagine a better place on a cold or wet Saturday afternoon. Has a definite " neighborhood" vibe whereas Downtown is very lively and it's large, but if you want a great place where you can wear just a sweater ( hopefully not a sweatshirt, tho) and some tasty food and drink, kick back a bit, this is one of GR's very best imo.

Flexible staff who accommodated our crew of 10+ with ease. Good beers and cocktails. Nice appetizers. Tasty spaetzle, chicken and waffles, cuban sandwich. I had the bulgogi and it was a bit overly salty and spicy.

I'm from Los Angeles and have access to amazing food.
The Green Well was on par with what we're used to at home. The menu selections all sounded truly amazing with enough selection to satisfy a variety of culinary needs.
I had the chicken skewers appetizer for lunch which I thought would be on the smaller side but it was very substantial for a lunch entree (for me anyway).
We all got different things and each tried bites of the various things. Not one dish disappointed. I was so excited to find such a gem and will DEFinitely be back on our next visit to Grand Rapids.

The moment you walk into The Green Well you just feel CLEAN. Weird thing to say, I know. I can't explain it. It looks clean, it smells clean, even the bathrooms were clean! Classy, no frills place. Food was awesome. I had the Michigan Turkey sandwich which is very unusual for me to order (turkey) but somehow the "all-natural local turkey breast, sweet potatoes, creamy coleslaw, bacon, white cheddar, tomato vinaigrette, grilled sourdough" details reeled me right in. It was a BIG sandwich. Could only eat half. It was excellent. DH had the Green Well Curry with noodles and shrimp and he loved it. Would definitely recommend this place. If we lived here, we would be going back to try the other awesome sounding dishes!

This place is really cool looking inside but even though it was about 95 degrees out we chose to eat on the patio which is right next to a beautiful little park full of flowers. Our food was absolutely delicious as were our drinks. Our waiter Isaac was so kind and pleasant. Overall a wonderful experience.

During Covid quarantining, I was getting a daily menu for take-out emailed. I was so intrigued by the PBJ Duck Sandwich that after a month and sick of cooking, I cracked. Friday afternoon, my husband on his way home from downtown area, I ordered online. Ordered at noon and order was ready by 2:24. My husband said that pick up was a breeze. The food also made a 20 minute drive in great shape. Duck sandwich was awesome. Pork meatballs just great. My son loved his Poutine. Ribs, very very moist and tasty. Definitely a splurge price-wise but worth it!!

Sitting on the terrace gives you a nice view of the garden and a pleasant atmosphere for dining. Try the blackened shrimp and grits! Wow! That's a taste treat too complex to try to describe. Just get it.

Had an amazing dinner at Green Well, but what made the food and the whole visit 5 stars was the level of service, from hostess, to waitress, to manager. Every single staff person went the extra mile to make our experience amazing and memorable. Can not recommend this restaurant any higher...go here!

Enjoyed a lovely late lunch with daughter today at The Green Well! Started with the warm feta app - loved it! Marlee had the turkey sandwich with a house salad side - delicious! I had the Mushroom Spaetzle - superb! Food was enhanced by professional and fun service by Cory. Well done ! I recommend The Green Well highly!

I did not enjoy my meal but the rest of the family was very happy. I got the Mac and cheese and it didn’t have enough sauce/flavour. The drinks were good and they have a cocktail hour with half off drinks and apps.

Although the food was fresh and tasty, this restaurant is incredibly overpriced! My daughter liked her curry, and my husband enjoyed his Cubano; they both also liked their mocktails. I ordered the MI Turkey Sandwich which was $17. It was supposed to come with sweet potatoes and coleslaw. I told the server I would prefer nothing with garlic or onions and was allergic to MSG. Imagine my surprise when I received a sandwich of only turkey and cheddar on grilled bread. I had to ask the server later if I was supposed to have the other items. He said yes and he'd check with the kitchen. He then reported that the sides were omitted due to the possibility of "cross-contamination" (meaning, I assume, that garlic and onions were used). Mind you, he would never have even mentioned a thing had I not flagged him down. He didn't offer other sides, and the bill was $80! It is absolutely criminal that my sandwich was a) the same price as it would have been with two substantial toppings, and b) MORE EXPENSIVE THAN A SANDWICH AT THE WORLD-RENOWNED ZINGERMAN'S DELI IN ANN ARBOR! I was extremely disappointed and will not return.

We enjoyed the outdoor seating. Everyone enjoyed the food and unique appetizers. It has great parking in the back. Prices were midrange.

Absolutely loved this place. We sat on the super nice patio, but the inside was gorgeous. Ordered a cup of phenomenal Cream of Mushroom soup and ordered the Michigan Turkey sandwich - best sandwich I think I’ve ever had in my life from a restaurant (and I attended high school next to the famous Zingerman’s and have had a lot of their creations). Pricey for lunch dropping near $60 with tip, but we’ll worth every penny.

Our group had a wide variety of dishes and they were all delicious. We had expected good food, but it was well beyond “good.” The wait staff was very helpful and pleasant.
