My wife and I have had our anniversary dinner at Vintage before and it was incredible! So, of course, we continue to go. This visit may be our last. The server, who has been there each time, is the biggest plus. Tip him well. The...food was, in a word, okay. For the price, maybe less than that. It was incredibly noisy! My last review told of how quiet it was. We had to speak louder than usual to be heard. Perhaps the thing that was most irritating was the couple next to us with their about one year old child, who definitely didn’t want to be there. Screaming, yelling, crying while husband ignores and wife scowls. This went on for well over an hour. The topper was the two times husband loudly blew his nose pointing his head in our direction. Quite a show with loud sound effects. To be sure, the server seemed similarly upset, but what are you gonna do with the entitled among us. Restaurants would rather make a buck than please individual customers by having standards and expectations. Not for us.More

We visited Vintage for my daughter's birthday and our expectations were high. Our server, William, was amazing. Excellent service that never interrupted. The wine selection was very good and we enjoyed a favorite Pinot with our meal. The menu was loaded with prime cuts of...beef and sides to share similar to other great steak restaurants we've enjoyed such as the Palm or Charlies in Orlando so we were excited to try it. We were served a complimentary app of Ahi Tuna that was delicious and we also had the truffle fries which were excellent as well. For dinner two of us ordered the filets and one ordered the special steak for the evening, a bone-in ribeye. For sides we had mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and asparagus. The sides were amazing. The house salads we enjoyed first were also very good. We were also served warm bread that was a nice tasty touch. But the meat makes the meal....and our steaks were good but not great. The filets were cooked to perfection but seemed a bit dry....not as juicy and flavorful as we expected..and the bone-in ribeye was tasty and cooked spot on to MR but it too was not great...it was very grisly, hard to cut and enjoy with all the gristle and fat and also was not as tender and juicy as I expected for the price. Even though we had too much food we pulled up so we could order and share a dessert...which we did. It was delicious and I honestly can't remember the specifics but it was chocolate and decadent. So for my rating I give it a Very good...and we'll try it again to see if the steaks were an anomaly. Hopefully they were or we'll hit Ruth's Chris instead.More

Great meal and great service. All of us had the filet and each of us well pleased w the perfectly cooked and very tender/flavorful steak. The crab dip appetizer is probably the best I’ve ever had. The wine list is well appointed and more importantly...the waiter steered us to an excellent choice, a Fisher wine. Service was first class, will gladly return.More

It was our 43rd anniversary, and a beautiful spring day, so we sat outside with a picturesque view of the golf course. Krista Marie was our server, and couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive. We split a wedge salad and a bottle of wine...from a very adequate wine list. I had the 16oz NY strip with sautéed mushrooms and my wife had the 11oz prime steak special with morel mushrooms served with asparagus and a twice baked potato. Plenty of free parking, a beautiful view, attentive service and wonderful food. Why go downtown? We will definitely return for other special occasions.More

My wife and I went here for dinner at 5:45 p.m. on a Saturday prior to attending a concert.I chose it for its proximity to our venue and for an upscale dining place. We were led through a fairly busy bar area (Cork) to a...small separate dining room in the back. One other table was dining and they were glad to see us because the room gives a bit of a bad vibe when you are there by yourself.A bit stark, and very quiet. The tempura shrimp appetizer was very good. My wife enjoyed the scallops and the flavor profile on my sea bass was very tasty but the fish was a bit cool. They primarily feature steak dishes and the smells from the table next to us made me wish I ordered the steak. Service was well done and timely.More

This is one of the newest fine dining establishments in the greater Grand Rapids area. It is somewhat out of the way situated out of town away from significant nightlife or the Grand Rapids sights. It is on the country club property so it has...somewhat of an exclusive air. The restaurant itself is through the main bar and is in a medium sized intimate room. It would be nicer if there were valet parking and a separate entrance. This oversight makes it not as fine as other places downtown say like 616 or Cygnus. Service was very good. Friendly knowledgeable staff. The decor is very intimate as well with very comfortable seating. The food was however variable in quality. The menu selections were limited. Nothing very inventive or unique. The steak was very good but not as good as the Chophouse or Ruth’s Chris. The bearnaise sauce was cool with a skin on top as if it had been stored poorly warmed. The au gratin potatoes are very good and some of the best I’ve had. Then by dessert it went downhill with a contrived stack of dry yellow cake rounds with cream cheese and under ripe strawberries. If you bill yourself as a $$$$ high end restaurant the dessert course should be just as excellent in taste and appearance as your other offerings. In this case it was just poor. This place has potential and a ready clientele but if it doesn’t change its variable food and limited offerings it won’t be around for long given the high quality establishments it will be compared with closer downtown.More

We were so pleasantly surprised by our experience at Vintage. The steaks were as good as at the more expensive chains. Our service was superb, as our server William was knowledgable, timely, and sensitive to our needs. We truly felt pampered. One excellent side is...the truffle fries.More

We'd been going to Cork, also a fine restaurant, for years and had peered into the Vintage section behind glass doors. Finally got up the gumption, and checkbook, to go. Cork is quite loud and busy. When the door of Vintage closes behind you, all...the noise is gone! My wife could hear faint echoes of conversation, but no more. If the glass had been frosted, like the door, it would have been like being in a total other world. Reservations are essential, though weekends during the summer are less busy we were told. We were there from 6:00 to 8:00 by ourselves, but the restaurant had called to confirm our reservation. We later learned there had been "no shows". The wine list is stellar and the prices reasonable. We split a bottle of Ramey Chardonnay which was in the mid $40's. The food selection is eclectic. I think that's an appropriate term. There were 7 entrees in addition to the signature steaks. All very different with different ingredients and preparation. In at least one case, the ChileanSea Bass, unfortunate for me. I love this fish but the ingredients were a turn-off. My wife had the Seafood Risotto which included, "Maine lobster, Gulf shrimp, Manila clams, King Crab, Herbs, English peas. Lobster cream sauce". Absolutely exceptional. I had to wrest a bite from her! I had the 8 oz. boneless filet. The smallest portion available and I still couldn't finish it (yet. It's waiting in our frig). Portions go up to the 36 oz. "Tomahawk". (No idea why the name.) The first bite proved it to be the best steak and the best prepared I'd ever eaten! The second and third bite did nothing to dissuade me. I had RoastedMushrooms and Creamed Spinach as well.Great additions. Be alerted, the sides are intended to be shared. At least 2/3 of my spinach is also waiting my attention in the frig. I'm afraid I left out the starters. We elected the King Crab Dip which so many others seem to have enjoyed. Absolutely wonderful! Followed this with a Classic Wedge with Iceberg lettuce, Gorgonzola Blue Cheese, Cherry tomatoes, Bacon and Ranch. This was not "classic". The presentation was a work of art, as I commented to our server. Which reminds me, William James, our server complete with business card, added those touches to make this night especially fine. (I didn't have the nerve to say it in person, but when he roars with laughter, I close my eyes and hear James Earl Jones.)More

Dinner at Vintage Prime and Seafood. Fine dinning with a fine menu, atmosphere and service. Offers seafood, beef, salads, butter with sea salt (different but tasty).. Awesome wine, beer selection and service. Offers inside and outside seating arrangement.

Hands down, the best dinner we've had in GR...and we have dined at most of the fine dining restaurants. The "little bite" of an everything bagel with smoked salmon and cherry compote set the tone for a great meal. The crab dip is as good...as other reviewers have said. My husband's rib eye was perfectly prepared and the creamed spinach was decadent. My salmon had accompaniments that made each bite a surprise mix of flavors. Our server, William, was attentive but not intrusive. A true professional. Two very big thumbs up for a very special restaurant!!More

People tend to get dressed up to go to Vintage. But by no means is a tie and jacket required. I have been there before somewhat casually dressed and was not out of place.
