Stop reading this review, and just treat yourself already. My wife and I couldn’t stay away from Osteria Rossa since our last visit a couple weeks ago - when we shared a plate of pasta that we couldn’t shovel into our mouths fast enough.
When...we returned this past Thursday night to celebrate 11 years of dating, we intended to sit at the bar and only have dessert and drinks, but that plan was modified and enhanced AFTER we had what we went for - their bread pudding.
Executive Chef Perkey greeted us to ask how our evening was, after we overheard him recommend one of their newest additions to the menu: pasta with pork (and olives). I hate olives, and told him so - despite having tried to enjoy them in Italy and France. He chuckled, and brought over a spoon with a couple delicate green olives, and told me to try one. And, I dug it, which blew away my wife. Then, he double-downed and said I’d love their new dish. I was intrigued, and his hospitality sold me.
After we had already closed out our tab, I told him we were in to try the pasta. Chef accepted the challenge, and my wife nudged me and said, “I think HE’S making our pasta.” Minutes later, he presented his dish, and dared us to not finish it. Then, when I tried to pay for it, smooth and friendly bartender Joseph told us that Chef said it was “on the house.”
Our experience last night made it a very easy decision to declare Osteria Rossa “our new spot.” Grazie, Chef.More
