I came to Grand Rapids on a business trip and was looking at all the local top spots to eat as it was my first time in the big city. I'm familiar with how Spanish tapas work, so I thought I would give this place a try. I found myself a seat at the bar and was waited on immediately... More

San Chez is very good at the tapas genre. Our waitperson was always on top of providing us with a well paced, well ordered meal, with friendly advice and superb timing. Kitchen crew is highly organized. A very pleasant surprise was the excellent San Chez house red, specially blended for them. We even bought a bottle to take home (and... More

Stopped here for my wife's birthday on a Tuesday night. We eat here a couple of times a year, and this time was the best. The empanadas were especially good. I love the yieiras y tocino (pork belly and scallops); the goat cheese (queso de cobra) tasted different than usual; the sangria was perfect; the shrimp of the sambas al... More

This place has an awesome atmosphere. The service is professional and fun. It's a Tapas restaurant so everything is in smaller portions so you can share! You get to try a ton of food and trust me you'll want to! I have never had a bad dish here. The blue cheese fritters are to die for!

I took my visiting mother to wonderful lunch. We shared 4 tapas between us with a small portion to go. The food was fabulous. The staff friendly and courteous as always. Some great new items on the menu as well as the come back of some old favorites (I'm guessing by popular demand) . I enjoyed every bite. I wish... More

We love going here because the food is so delicious. You order a number of small plates of tapas and share them around. Everything is fresh and the tastes are unique. It is our favorite place for birthdays or anniversaries.

The sangria is outstanding. Not just good, outstanding! The service and the food are also excellent. I have never had a bad experience here, nor do I think I ever will. the tapas are all very good. I don't think you can make a mistake in this establishment.

We took our daughters out for a bite to eat after helping them get settled into their new apartment. We weren't sure if we wanted breakfast or lunch and I knew San Chez offers both. We were seated and greeted by Lauren and asked if it was too late to order breakfast . It was 1:50 and they stop breakfast... More

This is a very interesting restaurant in a nice old building. I think they could have done more with the interior, some of it's a little kitschy and not all that professional-looking but the concept is great. They have an excellent menu and bar. The servers are well trained but sometimes spread a little thin during busy times. We liked... More

Went on a Saturday morning. Great Cuba coffee and my wife had a coconut latte, both were tasty. The salmon inlet was great. A must do when in GR
