A bit of a drive, but worth the extra distance. Take the long way back to downtown hotels making a stop at Kuni for takeout. No pump and circumstance - just good sashimi and rolls. All fresh and well prepared. Over the years has been able to maintain its consistency.

Went late one night with friends and the food was really poor quality and small portions for the price. My teriyaki tasted like it had gravy on it and it was a very small portion for the $18 I paid. This was my second trip and my second disappointment, I won't go back.

Like most Sushi restaurants in Grand Rapids, the proprietor is actually Korean. What makes this place exceptional is that they also serve Korean food, and there is a Korean menu selection. Although limited, we have tried almost every item, and can vouch that it is authentic and tasty. The place to be if you are going through Korean food withdrawal.... More

Sushi Kuni offers a delightful variety of sushi and sashimi in a comfortable setting. I especially enjoyed the tuna sashimi. The servers are knowledgeable and helpful and the food is presented in an attractive manner. We lingered with our friends after dinner and never felt rushed by the staff. We'll be back, I'm sure.

Decided to finally try this sushi place as we typically go to one closer to our house. We were not disappointed. The service was a tad bit slow but the quality of the food and the size of the rolls were quite generous. The decor is done nicely. The hotlanta and mt Fuji were excellent.

My favorite sushi spot in Grand Rapids. Love their Moonlight roll and Unagi roll. Their Edamame are one of the best I've had in recent time. Highly recommended!

I went for lunch with a friend, she got sushi (they have an extensive menu) and she said it okay. I got bi bim bop in the hot stone bowl, it was pretty good but it needed lots of hot sauce to flavor it. I would go there again but would order something all together different.
