This restaurant consistently serves excellent food, well prepared and presented. They have a varied menu. We enjoyed fried cauliflower with teriyaki sauce. I enjoyed a wonderful New York strip while others enjoyed the fish dishes on the menu. The service was very good as well....I highly recommend this restaurant.More

Lovely restaurant with golf course view. Lots of great choices on the menu. We like to start out with the crispy Brussel sprout appetizer and or calamari. Fries are over salted. One in are party thought his fish was too saline as well. Let your...guests add salt. Back off the salt.More

We loved this place when it was in downtown Rockford and still do in the new location, but do not like the ambiance nearly as well. The food is top rate - the filet in one of the best in town. We have yet to...have a bad meal. The service can be a little off sometimes, but still is OK even then . Their prices are excellent for the quality and quantity. This is the only golf course restaurant that I have ever eaten in if I wasn't playing there, and we will continue to do so.More

We frequently visit Reds on All-Day Happy Hour Wednesdays to enjoy their delicious coconut shrimp and Cyndi always takes care of us. She comes immediately with the wine that she remembers we like. She asks the kitchen to fry our shrimp a little less than...usual. And she is ready with a re-fill, remembering that I don't want wine added to my glass - so leaves the pitcher. She is absolutely the BEST!More

This was my third and last visit to Red at Thousand Oaks. While my first two visits were so so, this by far was the most lack luster. The Delmonico steak was far less than prime and full of gristle. The Prime Rib was just...okay, I’ve had better. Both dinners were ordered with grilled Brussel sprouts, but grilled was in the name only, they were burned and charred, the charcoal taste was overwhelming . To top off the experience, I had a $100 gift card from my employer for Christmas and when paying for the meal, the management questioned its authenticity and implied that it was invalid. As my company is a MAJOR employer in West Michigan I found this to be the last straw. My wife and I frequent other Red Water Restaurants often, however this is our last visit to Reds at Thousand Oaks. They need serious enhancement in their customer service training and identification with major players in the West Michigan community.More

Good food served in a wonderful atmosphere on the golf course. The food is fairly standard restaurant fare not anything special. The service was good. The bar provides all kinds of drinks. The restaurant has been recognized by Wine Spectator.

This is on our visit often list. Our other list is the never go back list. That is the extent of our rating scale. We typically only write reviews for the "visit often" list. The food and service at this restaurant is consistently excellent. Beautiful...restaurant and bar. Excellent deck and patio. For those looking for deals, check out the specials, the happy hour, the wine deals on Tuesday. Excellent wine list. Excellent creative menu. If you go to the bar, say hi to Cindy.More

Yes, I realize that this is a restaurant at a golf course. But it is more. When Reds on the River move out here, they moved their reputation for quality dining with them. We generally have filets, but this last time I had the meatloaf....a little dense, but the flavor was excellent. The potatoes were also good. My wife had a fish ish and liked it a lot. The service is always pretty good and the ambiance is nice, if not great. Prices are on the low end of fine dining.More

We had an excellent 6:30 dinner at Reds and our waitress was wonderful. We sat inside although many we’re enjoying the outdoor patio for dinner. I still like the old Thousand Oaks better. The new owners have made the dining room less welcoming. Before you...had nice tables with comfortable seating. These booths are too modern for me and the tables look like you are sitting in a school cafeteria. Also the bathrooms needed attention. They were out of toilet paper and soap. The servers are all very good so the restaurant just needs better organization as to who does what.More

We ate at this place when it was in Downtown Rockford and always enjoyed it. I do not like the ambiance here as well, but the food it as good or better. The service has stayed consistently good. They have a decent bar and wine...list. The biggest negative is that it can get very noisy if the golf crowd is still in the bar. They need to close off the access which will reduce the noise. Otherwise this is an excellent place for dinner.More

Reds was recommended by a friend so my family decided to give it a shot. In making reservations on line, I was asked if it was a special occasion and I listed it as a birthday. After my dining experience, I found the question a...bit odd given that it was not mentioned by the host or server. Reds restaurant has a nice atmosphere and friendly service. In respect to the meal, I found it strange that all of the meals (only 4 people) did not come out at the same time and seemed to be sitting under a heat lamp. I had the Fri/Sat night prime rib which was lacking in flavor and not served with horseradish which I requested but instead was served a horseradish sauce. The asparagus served with the meal was undercooked. I ask my wife what she though of Reds and she said it was OK, kind of like a Wedding Banquet food.More

Came here with the entire family to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday. We had a small private room that was perfect for our group of 13. Our waitress was Claire and she was excellent! There is something on the menu for everyone- eggs, omelettes, French...toast and burgers, sandwiches and other fun items. We shared a few appetizers included roasted Brussels sprouts, Brie roasted with apples, breads and cranberry jelly, mushroom bruschetta, and saganaki. All very tasty and great to share with a group. Between the group of us we had breakfast entrees as well as sandwiches and salads. Great food. Restaurant is set back off road a bit on the golf course, beautiful setting! Highly recommend!More

Still might be hit or miss, however, this was a pleasant evening at Reds. The hostess was still a non-event however our waitress had it all together. She was appropriately friendly sharing some personality with her humor. The wedge salad is the best in GR....The only party foul was making my martini with too much ice. Reds is making a come back.More

Had a decent meal with a large group. The highlight was the nicely cooked steak - tender and flavorful. Nothing else stood out and the service was mediocre at best.

Since the makeover from Thousand Oaks, this restaurant has attempted to be very trendy. I don't consider the change to be desireable or successful. Hard surfaces abound making for a noisy environment, very unlike the predecessor restaurant. While the food was good, we prefer to...dine in an environment where we can talk to other without the noise of nearby guests. We do not plan to return.More
