I was pleasantly surprised on our visit. The food was very good and the service was top notch. Two of us had the ravioli, one the lasagna and myself the deluxe sub. If there is one minor drawback, it the lack of parking. Luckily we found street parking.

We stopped by later on a Friday evening. There were several parties who were ending their meal as we started. Chicken parmigiana was very good, as was the Fettuccine Alfredo. Penne Paradiso was just OK, as there was not as much of the peas, ground beef and ham as we hoped.

Brought the in-laws here tonight. Haven’t been here in quite a while. Angel Hair Pomodoro for me, Lasagna for wife, and pizza and seafood dish for the others. Nice salads to start. Good service and priced right.

We were in town and were looking for a place for dinner. We didnt want to go downtown. We found Salvatores looking at Google and gave it a try. The server was really nice and the place is clean and cute. The food was SO GOOD. The portions are huge. We were stuffed but it looked like we hardly touched our food by how much we took with us. Real Italian food, delicious. Give it a try!

The lasagna had no flavor and no depth to it whatsoever I feel like I got a Frozen TV dinner box at the grocery store it was the worst lasagna I've had from any restaurant the salad was good but you can't mess that up usually unless it's old but their's was good the lasagna was just very very bad I would never pay that much money for such horrible food with no flavor and no dip I don't even know how they can call that Italian lasagna with no Italian spices herbs or anything else that was horrible believe me to believe the rest of their food probably doesn't have much for Italian herbs and spices and considering I'm Italian I just don't think I can go back there I will probably just keep going to fratelli's

The food here is the best anywhere in Grand Rapids. The service was awesome. The appetizers were almost a meal them selves. Everyone needs to eat here.

My wife and I dined there Thursday evening. The dinner was excellent, the drinks were very good and the service was top notch. We will make it one of our regular stops.

Ive eaten plenty of subs and pizza here and theyre both great. But i went for dinner and ordered shrimp scamp and it was bland made with no love at all. Terrible waste of money. Just take it off the menu if you cant do it with love! And the restaurant was practically empty when we got there. So i dont know why this was so terrible.

This was my third visit and it was amazing! We tried their pizza and linguine carbonara on this visit. The pizza was delicious, loved the sauce. Our waitress, who was very professional and personable, informed us that the pasta and all the sauces were home made and family recipes. We will definitely be going back!

Salvatore's Italian Restaurant has been around for decades...and the food quality and Italian authenticity has not changed. In a word...it's GREAT! Outstanding pizza, delicious pasta dishes, homemade sauces and 'old world' flavors and setting all the way.
Sal's is a bit off the beaten path on Grand Rapids northwest side...out of the hub-bub of downtown, it is more casual and intimate than many of the bigger, fancier establishments. Very casual and homey with 'mom and pop' still on the scene and guaranteeing the recipes are true and the customers happy.
And the prices reflect the lower overhead: I doubt there is any over $20. Especially inviting is their lunch buffet. With an endless parade of hot pizza choices, a nice salad bar, always a pasta dish or two, veggie sides and the BEST homemade chicken noodle soup...all for $9, you can't go wrong.
Try it. You'll like it...and return for more!

First of all the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because the waitress was so fast and friendly. The buffet is small and un-impressive with not a lot to choose from. I thought maybe they were going to save themselves when the grouchy chef brought out a tray of meatballs / cold served Alpo..... they were bad I told the guy how excited I was to see that tray of meat balls and the chef looked at me like I was some kind of street urchin just like the ones wondering around the parking lot.

We dine here several times a year and the food is always great in this family run restaurant. My favorite is the cheese manicotti- order the full portion and you will have a nice lunch the next day. We also have tried the lasagna, chicken parmigiana, lasagna, and chicken Marsala. All are fabulous!

A nice place. Will definitely be back. The food is fresh and delicious. Service was very friendly and attentive. Kym did a great job. The restaurant is well maintained and clean. Make a stop if you are looking for very good Italian food.
