There isn't much in Grand Marais these days. We managed to find this establishment open for lunch. What a serendipitous find! It was crowded and noisy but it is both a bar and restaurant. The service and food were both top notch. We ordered the whitefish tacos and a veggie pizza. Seriously, both dishes were freshly prepared and delicious. We... More

The drive to Grand Marais was beautiful over pictured rocks. It was a rainy day, so Grand Marais was not crowded at all. This little pub had really good food. I especially enjoyed the fresh whitefish tacos and the homemade garlic parmesan popcorn --- don't miss this popcorn! !! We had a great waitress. She clearly loves Grand Marais and... More

Loved the Whitefish. It wasn't fishy or greasy. Seemed fresher than some we had in other areas of the UP. Good beer choices and enjoyed the hamburgers as well.

It was peak season and its one of the few restaurants in the area. When we walked in we were barked at by a waitress who said we cant stand there(at the entrance). She did not direct us were we could stand and the place was packed. We left and came back a short while later. This time a different... More

Since 2002, When ever we are in Grand Marais we always stop in for the whitefish dinner and a beer. The fish is caught in Lake Superior so they sometimes run out. That happened to us 4th of July 2004 and we had a lovely Greek pizza so we were pretty happy when we left. The dinner includes a trip... More

I have been here a numer of times over the past few years with friends and family. It is always crowded because the beer and food are great and reasonably priced. The Granite Brown and Hematite Stout are my favorites. The service can be slow when its packed, but the wait staff is friendly.

We stopped on a Sunday evening when every other restaurant in Grand Marais had closed. The restaurant is self seating so that can be a little frustrating when they are as busy as they were when we went. (Some sort of seating plan/control is one of the primary reasons I'm not giving them a 5.). The atmosphere is mixed. It's... More

After a long day of sightseeing we stopped by for dinner. Popcorn appetizer was tasty, burger was decent and drinks were great. Bit of chaos snagging a table for our family of 5 but we managed.

We enjoyed our dinner here. It seems to be the spot for locals to have a beer at the bar and for tourists to have a bite to eat. It can get very busy. So don't expect you can come in at any time and have a table right away. The white fish was delicious, highly recommend it if they... More

Stopped here toward the end of a long day of driving and sight seeing with our two teen children. They were out of several menu items. The whitefish wasn't on the menu, only on a little placard, and our table didn't have one of the placards so I ended up ordering a burger. I noticed a placard on a neighboring... More
