We often had dinner in the Benevar Restaurant in the past, and always found it a great place. Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience recently. The prices are still reasonable, the portions are large, and the setting pleasant, but my meal was really awful....i ordered port chops with mushrooms, french fries and rise. The fries were cold and soggy, the meat was oily, and there was a very unpleasant smell of burnt oil about the plate. Really, whoever prepared this meal should not work in a restaurant. I hope this was an unfortunate exception....More

An extensive menu offers various game and traditional Hungarian dishes pages after pages. There were so many we wanted to choose that we decided that it is worth the trip to revisit this place despite the distance from Budapest. It is located right across from...the bus station if you prefer not to drive. Scrumptious dishes with local ingredients, mouth watering presentation, prompt and frienly service, clean and cozy facility. A must if you are in that neck of the woods. We will return.More

Visited the restaurant for a Monday lunch with family, had our 1 yo daughter with us. Short summary: poor quality food, with one of the worst customer services I've ever experienced. At arrival, we asked for a baby seat, got nothing but a funny look...and some grumbling in response. Waited about 20 minutes to order, then another 45 minutes till our meals arrived.. mostly.. they forgot to bring my salad, and had to ask twice to get it delivered. Ordered a stew that tasted very dry and could tell by the look it was from quite a few days ago, reheated in a microwave. The other meals weren't better either. At the end we expressed our complaints to the waiter, who left us without a response.. Will never go back and don't recommend the place for anyone. You're better off with the street food buffets next door..More

Food was excellent and good value however would not reccomend going on a Sunday lunchtime as there was a long wait to order food. Also marked down as parking is a problem with no allocated disabled spaces which was a problem for a family member.

We were there at Xmas time... Just founded this restaurant spontaneous on the way back home. Really tasty food, really good quality and big portion of food for this price. Quick service, and friendly staff.

The cheepest restaurant while keep the quality. Quiet fast service with several Hungarian food. Enought big portions. Good to reserve a table or maybe you can wait. In summer the outside table are better.

If I had to name a classic Hungarian restaurant this place would come into my mind. A small proportion of ‘90s at least the style. The food is quite good, the price for value is realistic. Can be busy sometimes but it’s not a fast...food restaurant anyway.More

Good after skiing in winter, or after hiking in summer. Location: Near Mátra Hotel, it has a large indoors part and also an outdoor garden where you can eat. Food: Traditional Hungarian dishes. I recommend the game-based dishes, you can't go wrong with them. Also,...the crepes are quite good as dessert. If you are vegetarian or have food allergies, you will have a more difficult time, maybe a few dishes or none to choose from. Staff: A bit slow, usually because the place can get quite packed. They are mostly nice though. Bonus: There is a resident cat in the garden sometimes. The kids and the locals love it.More
