Super slow service, fairly bland food - we tried the stuffed pepper soup, gyro, salad - all was mediocre especially given their prices. Would happily pay that if it was worth it, but not here. Would not recommend.

This would be a great family restaurant if the value was better. Food was good, service was excellent, restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. The entree selection offered was not exciting. My rating was influenced by the fact that I felt it was just ordinary food with inflated prices.

The only time I go here is with an elderly friend who enjoys their food. Every time I'm there, that's the majority of the guests, too. The food is decent, the service is ok, but I love going through the alley entrance to see the old pictures. The bathrooms are usually nice and clean. The attached gift shop is cute... More

We spent a week in Gaylord playing golf and ate at the Sugar Bowl 3 times, twice for lunch and once for breakfast. The food we had at all 3 meals was delish. The artisan lettuce in the salads is fresh and crispy, the tomatoes tasted like tomatoes, not cardboard. The senior size meatloaf meal is yummy, nicely seasoned, freshly... More

Excellent service, excellent food. Sautéed perch are excellent, many homemade dishes of the Bavarian style along with many American standards.

I ate here twice in the past week with my family. I had dinner on Saturday and lunch on Tuesday. Dinner was pretty tasty, but a little expensive. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. Lunch was pretty tasty too, choices consisting mostly of sandwiches and priced more reasonably for a family. We enjoyed good service... More

Stopped in because of trip advisor rating. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent meal. My husband had breakfast and I ordered lunch, nice that both were available at the same time. My club sandwich was excellent and omelet was full and cooked just right.

I have been to the Sugar Bowl on many occasions, and found it to be quite good. However on this visit the same can not be said. Service was poor, and the bar service extremely bad. Bartender did not know how to mix several of the drinks, tonic water was bad and it took forever to receive your drink. The... More

We stopped at the Sugar Bowl for dinner when passing through Gaylord on our way to Mackinac Island. It's a German themed restaurant, but with a wide selection of traditional American fare as well as specialty items. The food and service were very good, a great experience.

We stopped at the Sugar Bowl on our return trip from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This review is difficult as each of the four members had food that ranged from breakfast to dinner. The "Hearty Lad" breakfast was rated as OK by my significant other. I myself had the reuben sandwich which was quite good. My elderly father had the boneless... More
