Was at the restaurant back in January 2020 and the chicken dinner was the best I have ever had! The dinner in April 2021 was not as good, but definitely glad I went and was a great time!

This is family style dining at its best! However, if you aren't quite hungry enough for a huge meal, you can order off the lunch menu for dinner. Our party of 3 did this and still had leftovers! I got a meat sampler and only...ate the schnitzel, took the rest home. The cheesy potato puffs are delicious, as is the German potato salad. Mom got the pot pie and didn't care for the taste, but that's a personal thing. The cranberry relish and sauerkraut sides were enough to feed 2. My son got a pretzel - it filled an entire plate! He also loved his spaetzl. The bread they serve the table is delicious as well. The shops below the restaurant have lots of fun things, too! Highly recommend the Bavarian Inn restaurant.More

I realize with state regulations that restaurants are at 50% capacity however having to wait an hour past your reservation was ridiculous especially since we had young kids in our party. After we finally were seated, the service was horrible. It took us an hour...and a half to completely get our meal which was ridiculous since it was family style. Most of the sides we had had the night before at Zenders restaurant. We all opted for the Bavarian dinner instead of the specialty fried chicken because it was exactly what we had the night before. For the Bavarian plate, the smoked chop tasted like ham. The schnitzel was so dry, it was hard swallowing. The beef with sauce may appeal to others but was too sweet for me. Our order was screwed up 3 separate times that we finally gave up. With the duplicate special of the house being the same as Zenders across the street, I will never go back to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant but I might try Zenders again.More

The food at Bavarian Inn is every bit as good as any place in Frankenmuth so you can’t go wrong but the soup and chicken I got felt small. Maybe it was right or maybe I cheaped out on my order, but it was great....I had to sit at the bar it was so busy, I was lucky to be seated at all. I would love to go back soon if I can. Great place, friendly service with a smile.More

As a Perks club member my spouse and I had dinner here yesterday. Lots of diners but tables spaced per Covid rules. We had the family style chicken dinner. Food is plentiful and dishes refilled per your request. Soup is served first then 4 cold...salads then chicken with 5 sides. Ice cream is included for dessert. Service is efficient and friendly. A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.More

The place has not authentic Bavaria interior. It is small place. Kitchen must be real small as the food we were given was not cooked properly (frozen veggies not warmed properly as there were still ice flakes inside the supposed fresh vegetables) Beer selection is...not nice. Waiter was the best part about this place.More

Highly recommend making reservations. We had a reservation for 7pm and got a table at 7:15. Without a reservation there was a 1 1/2 hour wait. I was glad they offer a lunch menu at dinner time. If u dont eat alot it's a great...option.More

My husband and I made a quick getaway to our favorite little town. We have been coming to Frankenmuth once a year for the last 20 years and since we had never eaten at Bavarian Inn Restaurant,we decided to give it a try. We both...agreed, we have had better meals at McDonalds. We ordered the in house brewed root beer which was overly sweet and has way too much of something in it....vanilla? Nutmeg? We couldn’t put our finger on it. My husband is a huge root beer lover, but he wouldn’t even drink it. Then we ordered the “soft baked pretzel with a rich cheddar dipping sauce”. We got a stale room temperature pretzel that was more tacky than chewy but did have a outer crust consistent with week old bread with a cup of what seemed to be coolish cheez whiz on the side. We ordered two of them because my husband loves pretzels so much that he doesn’t share well...we at about on quarter of one of them and sent them back. Next comes our Wunderbar Pretzel Sandwich which was anything but wunderbar. The pretzel bun was again stale. I ordered mine with no lettuce or tomato. My husbands sandwich came out with about two inches of meat on it. Mine had about five thin slices two of which weren’t cooked until dehydration, so I ate those two slices of meat and my French fries. The manager did take the pretzels off and comped my meal and our waiter was great, but I do not believe we will ever come back.More

The food was absolutely amazing! Great service! We ate in the Austria room. The atmosphere was very nice. Romantic without being too much. There were other groups, not just couples. Would definitely recommend and would do it again!

Kind of disappointed because I had the world famous chicken and my husband had some sausage dinner, both were extremely bland and the chicken was dry. However the life savor was the potatoe pancakes! They were incredible and let it be noted we accidentally went...to the lodge restaurant instead of the main inn.More
