We weren't going to be arriving until quite late in the evening, so I made reservations online for an 8:30 seating. We were seated in the bar section, which was a bit disappointing, but the meal itself was quite good. All the sides/appetizers came as a surprise, but we enjoyed many of them. The meals themselves were generously portioned, and... More

A little expensive for the chicken dinner, but very good. Kid menu was not overly expensive. People were very nice.

The very good - hit the lower level early in the day for better selection of bakery products. The average - Not sure what all the fuss is about when it comes to the all you can eat chicken dinner. Yes the chicken is lightly breaded and fried (I've had better, and I've have a whole lots worse.) sides are... More

I was so excited for dinner but it was a total bust! The waiter (Franklin)clearly hated his job, anytime we asked for anything he huffed and puffed out of frustration, most of the food was cold, the chicken tasted funky and we will never return. I made sure to tell everyone I know to eat at the Bavarian Inn instead.... More

I guess I always assumed that pairing fried chicken with coleslaw was "the Colonel's" idea, but this restaurant makes it clear that the German immigrants who settled Frankenmuth in the mid-1800's had already figured out what an amazing combination the pair makes. Best coleslaw I've ever had, and a definite contender for the best fried chicken, as well. Very beautiful... More

Stopped for lunch during the week. It was busy when we got there (no reservation), but the wait was less than 10 minutes. Friendly staff and very attentive. We just ordered off the menu, and didn't do the all you can eat option. My wife got a 3pc chicken dinner, and I got the crab cakes. With the breads and... More

This place is an institution. My wife is from Michigan and has been coming to Zehnder's since she was a young child. To this day, she says that one of the first things she remembers eating on her own were the buttered noodles at Zehnder's. Make reservations. Expect to stand in line. Come hungry. Forget the menu, the only thing... More

Way too much fun and too much food. Fun friendly staff, and of course, they're dressed in period outfits. Appetizer Round. The raspberry jelly is the best I've every had. The breads, liver pate, and veggie cheese were very tasty. The cranberry relish was a pleasant surprise Main Course. The dressing, buttered noodles, mashed potatoes, and gravy were great. The... I was not impressed with the dinner that we had at Zehnder's. There was a large variety that came with the staple meal that you can order, but when it came to the "world famous chicken", We were incredibly let down. I have had better chicken at Lee's Chicken, then I had there. It was very, very bland. My husband... More
